The Fit Parent Project was created specifically to focus on the idea of parents getting the self-care they deserve through health and fitness sustainably so they can live the life they want not the life they’re settling for.Getting in shape is a challenge in and of itself. Let alone trying to get in shape during the highs, the lows, and the chaos of parenthood. Especially when between the guilt and the stress alone that kids just feel like they add a whole other dimension to even the simplest of tasks. Sometimes it feels impossible when all you hear is “we all have the same 24hrs in the day” when our 24 hours looks so much different than those without kids. It can be done though, is it harder? Absolutely. Is it worth it? Absolutely. And as parents, we often put ourselves on the backburner because we feel like that makes us better parents to the alternative. When in reality, the truth is, that self-care isn’t selfish.
