Most of us have gotten at least a little emotional at some point recently. It’s natural. But why do we have emotions and how much should we pay attention to them on any given day? Can we learn to skillfully choose which emotions to listen to and which ones to just let move on by?

In More Than A Feeling, the latest podcast from Ten Percent Happier, host Saleem Reshamwala goes on a real life quest to find the answers to these questions. He’ll experiment with neuroscientists, dive into stories with historians and philosophers, and document how musicians, therapists, hairdressers and airplane pilots work with emotions.

Saleem sifts through the human condition to find stories and insights that will help us define our most fundamental relationships: our relationship to our own emotions, and to each other’s.

Everyone has a story to tell, and in this podcast I sit down with a group of guests to learn about their childhoods, their marriages and children, the highs and low of their lives, and the stories that left them laughing or crying. And in so doing, show us a little bit of what it means to be human. Each season centers on a group of guests tied together with a common thread.
Season 1 focuses on 5 Quakers or ex-Quakers from the Las Cruces Friends Meeting, and I also ask them why they became Quakers, and if they left Quakerism, why.
In Season 2 I interview immigrants from around the world who all came to the New World to find a better life. I ask why they left, what immigration and integration was like for them, and what it means to be an immigrant.

A lumen is the basic unit for measuring brightness. It is a measure of the total quantity of visible light emitted by a source. In biology, a lumen (plural lumina) is the inside space of a tubular structure, such as an artery or intestine. It comes from Latin lumen, meaning ‘an opening.’ Kendra is dedicated to each individual’s personal process of living a life in service to their greatest Lumen. Her work is an experiential inquiry into limitation and freedom in our bodies and our lives. She believes that we can access and discover truth, insight, clarity, and inner guidance through the body. She blends shiatsu, bodywork, and movement practices with philosophy. She uses these practices as tools to investigate challenges, emotions, limiting beliefs and thought patterns, our relationship to pain, and suffering so that we can transform that into the strength and freedom of opening and aligning with what is most in service to our hearts.

As men, there is a lot we don’t share because we've been taught to behave "manly" and hold our emotions in. Despite the fact that TRUTH is the most powerful tool a man can have, we silence our truth, turning our insides raw. As a result, many of us are unwell. We engage in bad jobs, hurt ourselves and others, fall into addictions and perpetuate a twisted view on manhood.
It is this podcast's intention to help men navigate their way out of self-imposed silence and support their well-being by letting the truth be known.
Your hosts:
Olivier Egli and Carlos Basurto are serial entrepreneurs and business guides with the goal of speaking and walking in unabashed truth.

The School of Psych podcast is less about giving "5 simple tips for a great marriage" and more about people sharing deep and heartfelt stories like "what I learned about the psychology of fear from dangling off the ledge of 1,000 ft tall building" or "how I went from a reluctant bride to counseling couples as New York's 'Wedding Doctor'", and "how my journey to learn about unrequited love and romantic obsession began after becoming obsessed with someone who didn't love me back". Along the way, we'll learn about love, life, loss, fear, anger, joy, creativity, and happiness. Authors, sociologists, psychologists, journalists, therapists, artists, and more will be asked to dig deep into their own personal passions, triumphs, heartbreaks, failures, and eureka moments to help us learn more about who we are, what we think, and how we relate. If you had words of advice for your younger self, what would they be?

Things I Wish I Had Known covers all things mental health from a child's perspective. Our guest speakers share their own personal or professional experiences to add richness and depth to the learning of those who work with children or who have their own children to help us all understand the challenges of being a child a bit better.

This podcast is produced by Clear Sky Children's Charity, a Play & Creative Arts Therapy charity who support children who have experienced trauma and families.
