These were murders that would turn any town on its head, but La Jolla, Calif? That rich jewel by the sea? Thirty years ago, a man and his new wife were murdered in their bed. That’s a long time for a double homicide to stay in the public eye and imagination, but these were no ordinary murders. The killer was the man’s first wife, Betty Broderick. Betty and Dan Broderick had looked like the perfect couple, right up until they weren’t. After four children and nearly 15 years of marriage, after the riches they both worked for were finally within reach, he walked out and began having an affair with his assistant. But divorce ended the Brodericks’ marriage only on paper. “Till death do you part” turned out to be the way it would ultimately end: bitter, savage and fatal. It took two criminal trials to send Betty Broderick to prison, and we’ll hear not only from her divorce attorney, but also from the criminal defense attorney who argued for her in two murder trials, plus the foreman of the jury that convicted her. So many things burned this case into memory: The principals were rich. The jealous killer was, for a change, the woman, not the man. It’s been the subject of TV movies and books. It’s resonated with two generations of Americans -- deserted wives, unhappy husbands. And it’s raised some questions about how divorce laws may contribute to what’s called the feminization of poverty. All of these issues remain critical and controversial in contemporary America today. Thirty years after five bullets, two coffins and one California prison inmate No. W42477, why can’t we look away from Betty Broderick?

A hilarious original, sitcom podcast about the highs and lows of dating, love, sex, trying to "tick the boxes", and the elusive quest to find "The One"

Frankie is very single-ish, extremely cynical of modern dating, waiting for "The One", and trying desperately to tick all the boxes; nab 'her person', get married, start her own family, make her parents proud, and get out from underneath the heavy burden of the dark single girl cloud hanging over her head. But when she turns 35, is reminded that she hasn't ticked the boxes yet, and her life plan goes awry, she's slingshot into a whole new reality of singleness, sexual freedom, dating, searching for "The One", and ultimately finding herself.

Changing America’s dysfunctional relationship with sex one laugh at a time, this award-winning podcast gets to the meat of what fuels our deepest, darkest turn-ons. Sex isn't just sex; it’s about everything – identity, power, politics, taboos, and the shame our culture thrives on. Recognizing how these elements seep into our bedrooms makes all the kinky, “weird” stuff we’re secretly into seem not so weird after all. Host Sunny Megatron is an acclaimed Clinical Sexologist, BDSM Educator, and Showtime TV host. Equal parts hilarious and informative, Sunny & her guests serve up real talk about kink, polyamory, sexual ethics, and more. From practical sex tips to candid conversations on sexual empowerment to the war on reproductive rights and sexual freedom, each topic is approached with a lightheartedness that’s second to none. On American Sex Podcast, Kink is CustomizableTM and education is the new punk rock. The personal is undeniably political and tinkle-your-pants laughter is the antidote to sexual shame. Together, we’re on a mission to harness the power in our pleasure, embrace the subversion in our perversion, and challenge the puritanical, backward-ass views on sex that are as American as apple pie. ----- Visit americansexpodcast.com & sunnymegatron.com for more ------ Submit your sex questions by email: [email protected] TikTok: @SunnyMegatron, Twitter: @AmericanSexPod, Intsa: @AmericanSexPodcast, Patreon: patreon.com/americansex All Links: direct.me/sunnymegatron American Sex Podcast is a proud member of Pleasure Podcasts. Based off her popular and darkly humorous Facebook page, blog and forthcoming novel of the same name, author Brandy Ferner takes her love of adult conversation to the air as she spears the injustices of modern parenting and continues her tradition of saying things out loud that others won’t. As a lover of truth and all things dark comedy, she and special guests partake in real talk about everything relating to motherhood – marriage post kids, birth, the never-ending micromanagement of screen time, sex, chronic-illness, Snoop Dogg, social issues, homeschooling, meditation, the revolt of the aging uterus, postpartum depletion, writing, the joke that is half-day kindergarten, and more. This is not a podcast with annoying parenting advice. Instead, Adult Conversation aims to break down the façade of “perfect” parenting with its balanced mix of wit, inappropriateness, compassion and validation, and can be considered a form of self-care, especially when listened to while locked in a bathroom alone. Or if your people will stage a full-on revolt at being separated from you, pop in some earbuds while folding laundry, wiping butts or waiting in the carpool line. Warning: this podcast can be inappropriate, just like parenting.

Welcome to the How To Love Yourself No Matter What Podcast, hosted by Amanda Hess, a Certified Trauma Aware Life & Success Coach for Neurodivergent Women. This podcast is dedicated to helping neurodivergent women change what they think is "wrong with them" into their superpower. Amanda struggled with her neurodivergence for years without even knowing that it was neurodivergence. Maybe you can relate? Thanks to not understanding her unique brain and her unique needs, Amanda spent decades dealing with the emotional fallout of not knowing how to address her highly sensitive nervous system. This meant a long journey of mental health struggles, meds that didn't work and therapy that seemingly made her feel worse, not better. Until she found coaching, which changed everything. Now Amanda teaches neurodivergent women how to approach their unique brains in a way that creates trust, understanding, and real results. If you are craving a new experience with yourself and want to feel like you truly belong to yourself and to the world, this podcast is for you. Let's get started.
