You were made for intimate connection; with God, with your spouse, with your family and friends. Yet, in the culture of busyness, you may find yourself pulled in so many directions, the noise of life and doing all the things begins to drown out the ability to cultivate true connection.

Margin is required for deep intimacy. We’re going to talk about how to create margin on purpose and start taking ground in creating deep connection and intimacy. Whether you are newly wed, in the thick of raising kids or in the empty nest stage, creating margin is season to season. It’s never easy and it doesn’t happen naturally, but you CAN find rhythms of margin in your season of life.

How have we as the church buried the gift of our body, our gender and our sexuality? As we continue our discussion of the parable of the talents in Matthew 25, we observe the servant who buried the talent, hiding it in the ground, did so out of fear. This third servant believed a lie about the Master, therefore he buried what was given to him.

In this episode, we will look at Genesis 1 and parallels to Jesus’s parable in Matthew. Let’s uproot lies and lean into the good garden gifts. What would it look like to walk in freedom, seeing the goodness of our image bearing beauty and the unity that leads to fruitfulness in married intimacy?

In this episode you’ll hear how a little rap based on 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 became a seed not only to plant truth in the hearts of my children, but one planted to bring my talented friend and musician Kathryn Brummer alongside to write beautiful songs based on teaching truths.

The catchiness of the rap caught on and all of my kids not only sing it while we’re in the kitchen or in the car, but that rap launched us into countless deeper conversations about the significance of God’s design, His heart for us, and His amazing plan for how we live in our bodies as male and female.

We want to see that happen for families all over the world. We want to see the life-shaping power of music, combined with truth filled theology, form our kids' worldviews and shift the culture of our homes from the inside out.

Live thoughtfully, intentionally this month- to find more oneness, purpose and intimacy.
Turn down your focus on social media and the news. Turn up your attention to what God is doing and wants to do in your marriage.
Schedule in your day a few “distraction breaks” for when you will take in input from outside sources- news, social media, etc. (Once in the morning, once in the evening) so that your mind isn’t oversaturated with so much distraction and heaviness, but instead can be filled with creativity and vision from God for your marriage and calling.
Set up a “tech box” on your kitchen counter where you keep your phones when you’re not using them.
Consider deleting social media or news apps from your phone, so that you check it purposefully on your desktop at certain times, which will prevent you from feeling fragmented or cluttered or distracted throughout the day.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for hope. Thank you that You fill us with your Holy Spirit. Even in desert seasons, even in seasons of famine, we don’t have to be afraid. We can still abound because the resurrection power of the Living God lives in us. Every part of our life belongs to you - our relationships, our marriage, even our bedroom. We invite You in - mind, body, heart - to come into our marriage and make us whole. This month, we give every part of our marriage to You. We ask for supernatural growth inside our homes and our marriage intimacy as we seek to serve You and reach the world from the inside out. We trust You. We seek to bring You glory and honor with our lives as we surrender to your good way. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Scripture intake in her home: each family member reads the same chapter in the Bible throughout the week. On Sundays, they gather and discuss it. Throughout the week, Francie takes the scripture that sticks out the most and writes it down in Google docs so she can refer back when she needs to.
