July 30th is the United Nation's World Day Against Human Trafficking, an issue that is far more widespread than you may realize.

Human trafficking includes selling people for sexual exploitation, forced labor or marriage, and even for organ harvesting. Every year, thousands of people become victims of this heinous crime, some in their native countries and others while traveling abroad. Many of these people are children.

In this special bonus episode I'm speaking with O.U.R. Rescue Director of Outreach Jani Dix about the incredible work Tim Ballard's organization is doing in conjunction with law enforcement to free and heal children from sex trafficking, and how you can join in the fight too.

Surprisingly, in the United States, trafficking occurs and then the child goes home at night--it's not what you'd typically imagine or what you've seen in the media.

This is an incredibly important conversation that has the potential to save innumerable lives from slavery: Listen in, learn what to look for in your own community, and learn how YOU can help in the fight against people who actively seek to harm children.

Take the free trafficking course to educate yourself on what to look for in your own community.

You probably know my guest Sophie Mas from her work on the Award-Winning Film Call Me By Your Name, but she is also the best selling co-author of How to Be Parisian. Now after having helped all of us feel just a little more Parisian, Sophie and her best-friend/co-author Caroline de Maigret are back with their incredible follow-up, Older, but Better, but Older which dives into the pros and cons of aging for the modern woman. This episode is about loving yourself where you are and accepting the inevitability of aging but also, and perhaps most importantly, about not allowing age to be an excuse for living a full and beautiful life.

In this episode I'm speaking with best selling author and poet Kate Baer. Her first book, What Kind Of Woman, was a #1 New York Times Instant Bestseller and featured in publications such as Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue.com & The Chicago Review. Holocaust Survivor William Harvey is adamant that if you want to have a good life, you can't feel sorry for yourself or “you will destroy your life.” He adds, "You come to this world with nothing and you leave the world with nothing but the impact and the good that you did for others".

This episode was an honor to record. I hope it awakens you to the beauty and divinity of your own life, positively shifts your current perspective, and inspires you to reach out and help someone less fortunate than you today.

Born in 1924 in the Czech Republic, William Harvey’s graduation in 1943 was quickly followed by deportation to Auschwitz on a 4-day cattle car ride. He was later transferred to Buchenwald and freed when the Americans liberated the death camp in April 1945. Harvey went on to build a successful life as a cosmetologist in Beverly Hills working with some of Hollywood's biggest stars like Judy Garland and Mary Martin.

"There is a destiny which makes us brothers; none goes his way alone. All that we send into the lives of others comes back into our own." Edwin Markham

Quotes from the Episode

“Happiness is the way you perceive things in life, we all have to go through difficulties, we have to overcome it."

"To help someone who is less fortunate than you, that is the greatest thing you can achieve in life."

"Theres certain things in life you cannot help, but if you feel sorry for yourself, you destroy your life."

"I look forward to getting up everyday to help people."

"You come to this world with nothing and you leave the world with nothing but the impact and the good that you do for others."

"Life is beautiful and all the beauty in life is free."

"Enjoy every day..all the material things in life don't bring happiness...life is what you make it, you have to make it yourself."

"Everyone has a special attribute that can contribute to a happy life, if they use their brain and think."

"Enjoy every single day that God gives you, and don't ask questions, there are a lot of things with no answer."
