Motherhood Unstressed01/11/21 • 76 min
Holocaust Survivor William Harvey is adamant that if you want to have a good life, you can't feel sorry for yourself or “you will destroy your life.” He adds, "You come to this world with nothing and you leave the world with nothing but the impact and the good that you did for others".
This episode was an honor to record. I hope it awakens you to the beauty and divinity of your own life, positively shifts your current perspective, and inspires you to reach out and help someone less fortunate than you today.
Born in 1924 in the Czech Republic, William Harvey’s graduation in 1943 was quickly followed by deportation to Auschwitz on a 4-day cattle car ride. He was later transferred to Buchenwald and freed when the Americans liberated the death camp in April 1945. Harvey went on to build a successful life as a cosmetologist in Beverly Hills working with some of Hollywood's biggest stars like Judy Garland and Mary Martin.
"There is a destiny which makes us brothers; none goes his way alone. All that we send into the lives of others comes back into our own." Edwin Markham
