On this episode PK discusses starting fresh in Florida and how going back to school was not an easy task but he did it. Through this episode PK brings up topics that most people struggle with when trying to make changes but shows you that with small steps you can achieve whatever you set your mind to. The tale started in San Antonio with PK as a line cook at the world famous Hooters restaurant and he ends this episode with a few tears as he starts to discuss the man who probably made the biggest impact on him in his career as an audio engineer. Life is not always easy or fair, in the words of PK many times on this show, but one thing to take in as you listen to this episode is that with faith in yourself and hard work all things are possible in this world. You just can't give up, even if you fail a time or two.

PK continues his journey discussing his first job/career in the music business and how it was not all glitz and glamor like so many might think. It was full of long days in pretty stressful environments but that was just the start. Coming up in a business that is strongly built on executing perfectly in a high-stress scenario some days makes learning and trusting your teacher hard when you are just trying to help make sure the show is going to happen that night. PK walks you through those years of wanting to be on a tour bus so bad but having to grind it out in some of the trenches of the local sound company business first.

This episode is almost 30 years in the making and neither one of these guys probably ever thought they would be in PK’s backyard drinking fine tequila talking about their wild lives growing up in El Paso, TX, traveling the world and now being fathers. Now this episode is a good one so we don't want to give too much away in the notes, but PK and Neal have been friends for a long time so obviously there are many laughs they share during this episode and some wild tales of riding bikes as teens and even running from the cops. It would take a few pages to sum up what these two got to talking about so we suggest you sit back, fill up a cup of your favorite bevvy and kick your shoes off. This is a long one but a great one that you don't want to miss. Oh and don’t worry about any inside jokes they let it all out in every tale so again just sit back and enjoy the comedy bond between these two friends.

We have always had people to look up to in life, from great athletes to great musicians, but never has there been a way to access media and information the way you can now. The game is changing and younger and younger people are pushing the boundaries of what is great! Not everyone is destined to go into medicine or even be a chef, but nowadays you can start as one thing and flip the script one hundred and eighty degrees overnight. It used to be popular to stay in a field for your whole life but we see it now more than ever that if you hate the situation you are in, well change it! Or better than that, if you think you can do it better then hop right in and take your shot. That is exactly what people like Jake and Logan Paul are doing. They are putting their money where their mouths are and taking a shot at something different. Love them or hate them they are taking challenges on and in some cases making a difference to the youth of the world.

David Goggins has an incredible story check him out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tSTk1083VY

PK and BK have both worked in the music industry (on opposite sides of the business) for over a decade. While BK still is in the music management side, PK has started over and in this episode BK asks PK a pretty big question right from the get go which sparks this multi-parts talk. PK starts the journey in El Paso and, in this episode, ends with him making it to Florida to start a new scary adventure in the music business. Now, it is only a scary tale because what we don't know can scare us but listen to how PK is able to relate some of those same emotions to his current situation with starting a new life and starting fresh in a world of unknowns.

Adam and PK start the show off with a little banter about how Adam got into the music business, his first job in Nashville and who one of his first roommates in Music City was (you will never guess but he is a super star). Adam’s tale of how he got his start is awesome but where he has taken his career is even more dope! The two jump into how Adam and a couple country music superstars, in writing and performing, took a simple tour bus and turned it into a song writing paradise where some of country music’s biggest hits were made! PK has been next to Adam at a few number one song parties and has been able to witness this man’s dedication to the business and his songwriting friends' passion for crushing hit after hit! Grab a few bevvies, come enjoy this rainy day at the ranch and listen to these guys tell some amazing tales of hard work and fun!

Goals vs Resolutions

PK and BK never thought about this topic until recently when they wanted to change things about their daily routine and there is no better time than the new year to make a change. This is at least what most people think but why do so many fail when it comes to resolutions? PK discusses the change in his mind that happened to him when he started to use the word goal and how setting goals actually started to help show a positive change in his life. He goes into how some goals are continually moving goals that don't have a finish line or never have an end but that it is still good to keep pushing to get close.

PK goes into a hysterical story about him wearing short shorts on tour with bands while traveling around the world. BK can’t keep it together while he tells BK the story of who and what inspired PK to even wear short shorts on tour! Make sure to go visit our instagram to see the photo evidence of PK in short shorts! https://instagram.com/backyardsbevvies

BK explains to him about her days of being a MASSHOLE, aka a resident of Massachusetts, and her days of working at Hard Rock and how Dunkin for sure helped her during some long days being a bartender. Then PK goes on an interesting talk about what it is like to work in TD Garden as a traveling roadie and what a typical roadie’s day is like... so when those days were long Dunkin helped him make it through. PK had some fun adventures on the road and worked with many different people including unions. He explains to everyone how unions, in some of the biggest venues in America, operate.

Toward the end of the talk BK asks PK a very serious question about if he misses the road and being a roadie but what comes from the question is quite surprising. PK goes into detail about how since leaving the road his mental health is better now than ever, even though he has a way harder day and life starting over from scratch in a new adventure, which is this podcast!
