Here at Fadlads, Chris & Dok challenge themselves to a bout of a fad, or a way of life... a month at a time and doing it EVERY DAY. Then, and only then, can we report back to you what it feels like and whether it is something you want to try yourself.
This month Chris takes on Intermittent Fasting, Dok aims to do 100 push ups a day and our guest this month is blogger and model Emma Smyth (@the_em_edit) Emma tries to see if getting up at 5am every day is going to make her successful...
After this opening episode, we will report halfway through the month as to how it’s going, and if we're surviving and then finally, at the end of the month, we discuss what, if any, the benefits of our fad are. Each month will be a new fad and will be for the body or mind in some way or other. The key is doing it EVERY DAY.

She decided to talk to someone new, a stranger, every day. It's a hugely insightful and recommendable challenge that's well worth a listen. This month Chris & Dok battle on with health & wellness challenges. Chris puts himself up to a circuit training program to try and get his summer Dad bod, whilst Dok tries to walk 10,000 steps a day to see if it is a massive hassle or total pleasure. Both very much physical challenges.....
Our guest this month is london based Johannah Hogg. Jo is taking a huge leap into the unknown this month with a mental (and hopefully spiritual) challenge of talking to someone different that she doesn't know...every day... for a month.... whether it is at a bus stop, in a park or on a bus.

We talk about the positive effects of getting a good nights sleep and the equally positive effects of just being a be more aware of what you eat.
We are taking these challenges because we want to see how different lifestyles and 'fads' can affect our mental and physical well being. Please don't blame us if you miss work because you didn't set an alarm. It's also important to state that when we talk about weight and calories it is a personal decision that we are making and not preaching about weight loss or diet.

This month we are switching it up a little. We are taking a break from having a guest challenge and just having a broader chat about where we are now that we are hitting the fourth month as well a having some general talk about heart rate training, overall wellness and what we have learnt so far.
The challenges this month are good ones though.... Chris does some calorie counting with the help of the app MyFitnessPal to try and chip away at his Dad Bod whilst Dok has to say goodbye to his night owl ways and spend a whole month sleeping without an alarm.... If you think that's easy just bear in mind the he has a job that sometimes starts very early...

The chat i since and easy as we go through our challenges, all of which seem to have had a lovely soothing, therapeutic and beneficial effect on all involved. Dok, if you can believe this, looks even better after a month of no sugar and Chris gives another terrible book review.
