We're kicking off Q3 with a comprehensive recap of Q2's brand report. The online landscape is constantly changing and staying in the know could mean the difference between landing the next cold lead, and missing them. Now, there's no reason to be obsessive about trends. So I think a quarterly recap is the perfect time to take stock of what's happening around us!
I'm not about trend chasing. These trend reports are more about being aware of trends so you can adopt what feels aligned for your brand and ditch the rest. First of all, I'm seeing a much bigger need for clear values, transparency, and vulnerability. Unfortunately, a lot of people have been burned by a client experience that didn't match the marketing.
A business owner could make themselves out to be super Type A and on top of it, but behind the scenes, they're leaving loose ends left and right. Because of this, buyers need to actually see values in action through your marketing. People are starting to see that actions speak louder than words, so a full brand experience that matches up with the client experience is more important than ever.
We'll be diving into everything from mini-branding for individual offers to the evolution of content creation. Tune in to hear why I personally think that less is more and what I'm doing to make sure our brand doesn't become white noise to my audience.

People pleasing creates watered down brands. If you're a people pleaser, I want you to ask yourself to name three people that are actually pleased with you and being LOUD about it. It's hard to bring out bold, enthusiastic opinions in other people if you're not sharing them yourself.
Think about your favorite celebrities. People rally around celebrities because of their brand! And part of building their brand comes from super bold actions and statements. From one confident claim, we can all guess what their next move might be. We can start to feel like we understand them and even know them on a deeper level.
I think we're all a little bit afraid that we'll sound like a hater if we share our boldest opinions. But here's the thing: you're only a hater if you have no other solutions. I've been guilty of this before! I used to be totally against website templates. But was I coming to the table with a solution for people who weren't ready for a full rebrand? Nope! So I've been a bit of a hater before and I'm sure you have too.
But the great news is, we're all allowed to evolve and change our opinions over time. Yes, it's important to have conviction and congruency in your brand. So don't go out and flip flop with contradicting opinions every week. We don't want to encourage distrust. But there is a way to change your opinion and stay on brand! It's Highflier Powerhouse's brand birthday! So in honor of this milestone, I'm digging into my decision to create a separate Instagram account to explore more of my personal brand. We'll be digging into questions like "when is it time to create multiple Instagram accounts for your business? Why should you do it? Why shouldn't you do it?"
In order to understand the framework behind my decision, go listen to episode 110 where I go into the specifics of the Personal Brand Pyramid. At the end of the day, the decision to have multiple accounts is personal to you and your goals. For me, I originally started a separate account and set strong boundaries in place for security reasons. Building my personal brand was never about revealing all of the fine details of my life to strangers on the internet.
Instead of focusing too much on relatability, I was focused on relevance. Because here's the thing: you can convert even more followers when your brand is relevant to them versus being super relatable. When people have two separate accounts that end up basically serving the same function, or one account goes dry, it's usually because they haven't sat down and thought of a clear way that they want to represent their brand moving forward.
So you'll walk away from today's episode with confidence that your Instagram accounts are all serving a specific purpose to move the needle forward for you.

Investing in your branding is not all about building up your confidence. That's a fun byproduct, don't get me wrong! But at the end of the day, it's about your audience.

Even if you're consistently getting inquiries and clients, you have to ask yourself: are all of these ideal clients? If the answer is no, you've probably got some brand elements that aren't communicating effectively. Through real-life examples, you'll see how clear, consistent branding can set you apart in a competitive market, ensuring that your message resonates and drives more inquiries and sales.
Here's one stand out tip from the episode: anytime you recieve an objection, it should become a theme in your content. Don't answer a question once and move on! For Highflier Powerhouse, we heard from a potential client that they noticed other design agencies have a consistent vibe in their portfolios. This objection alone helped us understand and highlight something that sets us apart: we're not cookie cutter. Every single client is getting a highly individualized experience.
