"Don't for a walk with Laurel, you might end up quitting your job!"
At a time in my life when I was lost and confused, Laurel brought a light for me. I met her through my former job because we are graduates of the same college and we were planning an event together. Yet I knew after hearing just a tiny piece of her story I wanted to talk to her more. A nervous and scared me sent her an email asking if she had some time to chat non-event stuff. The kind soul she is, she invited me to her home and we went for a walk.
It was one of the first conversations I was brave enough to have that centered around my unhappiness with my job at the time. She listened, she told her story, and she offered advice. I knew when I started the podcast I knew I wanted Laurel to be on it. I hope you gain valuable insight and inspiration from our conversation!!!
Here is a little bit about what we talked about:
-She found herself burnt out at the age of 27
-Discovered yoga at this same time as a way to calm her body and mind
-Took her love of yoga and travel and combined them into the business she has today
-How valuable a supportive community will be to your well-being
-What it's like to go against the grain and forge your own path

(#8) The 5 steps to take action on the life you want
There is a difference between wishing for a certain life and desiring a certain life. For me that difference is that desire means I am willing to take the steps to make it happen, wishing means just that, I wish for it, but don't believe it can happen.
In the last year I have switched drastically from wishing to desiring, and have seen the subsequent results in my own life. I desired to start my own business, and here I am. This didn't happen by mistake, or dumb luck, this happened because I desired it so badly that I took the steps, no matter how tiny they were, to get here.
There is common theme I see when listening and learning from others who teach how to manifest, or to make your desires come to life. I compiled those 5 steps and put them together here for you.
The 5 steps are:
1) Decide what it is you want
2) Visualize yourself as though you already have it
3) Describe how this version of you who already has it thinks, acts and feels
4) Think about what you can do today to think, act and feel as that version of you who has what you want
4) Take action!
The final step is the most important and is what makes the difference between wishing and desiring. No matter how tiny the action just take it!
