"Don't for a walk with Laurel, you might end up quitting your job!"
At a time in my life when I was lost and confused, Laurel brought a light for me. I met her through my former job because we are graduates of the same college and we were planning an event together. Yet I knew after hearing just a tiny piece of her story I wanted to talk to her more. A nervous and scared me sent her an email asking if she had some time to chat non-event stuff. The kind soul she is, she invited me to her home and we went for a walk.
It was one of the first conversations I was brave enough to have that centered around my unhappiness with my job at the time. She listened, she told her story, and she offered advice. I knew when I started the podcast I knew I wanted Laurel to be on it. I hope you gain valuable insight and inspiration from our conversation!!!
Here is a little bit about what we talked about:
-She found herself burnt out at the age of 27
-Discovered yoga at this same time as a way to calm her body and mind
-Took her love of yoga and travel and combined them into the business she has today
-How valuable a supportive community will be to your well-being
-What it's like to go against the grain and forge your own path
You can learn more about Laurel and her yoga adventures at https://laurelattanasio.com/
You can follow her on Instagram at @laurelattanasio - https://instagram.com/laurelattanasio/

"It's often in the absence of sound that we hear the most." - Danny Bader In our busy world we rarely take time to just be still, but it's those moments of stillness where we gain the most clarity. Taking time to simply be still whether that's meditation, a quiet walk or simply sitting in silence with no distractions on a daily basis will change your life. Today Nikki is encouraging to take those moments and enjoy them. To be still, be present and to listen.

In this episode I'm sharing with you what I'm doing and not doing quarantine. I can easily focus on all the things going wrong (which btw I have done), but I'm working to continue focusing on the positive things I'm doing during quarantine.
I provide you with a great exercise you can do to shift your focus from what's wrong to what's right. When you do this you will notice a change in your attitude and how you're feeling about how you're handling quarantine.
This isn't about doing anything different, but instead looking at what is actually going on.

We are all quarantined in our homes right now. It is imperitive that you are taking care of yourself in order to show up best for your family. Especially if like me and my husband, you have 2 parents working from home and homeschooling your kids.
My non-negotiables have allowed me to keep my sanity during this time. Then when challenges arise and I feel that overwhelm come up I'm able to not lose my $hit, and can approach the challenge with a level head.
Decide on your non-negotiables and don't give them up!!! Especially not now!
