Navigating cancer can be difficult not only at the time of diagnosis, but also while processing the trauma. The grief and sadness can feel overwhelming. The isolation can keep you stuck. The emotions can get packed away.

My guest, David Richman, author, athlete and philanthropist, found himself in a life transformation at the same time his sister was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. While she was in the last few weeks of her battle, he made a promise to her and decided to learn more by becoming more involved at a deeper level. The lack of emotion he witnessed in the world of cancer puzzled him. This led him to start a project. One that would change the lives of so many.

From this incredible adventure, he wrote his book “Cycle of Lives: 15 People’s Stories, 5,000 Miles, and a Journey Through the Emotional Chaos of Cancer”

Do you find yourself living in the world of “WHAT IF”? What if something bad happens? What if I can't make a decision? Fear, worry, and other feelings can pull you into a dark place. If you are stuck in the past or projecting into the future, you rob yourself of the present.

Kara Goodwin joins me today to help us find calm seas in our sometimes crazy lives. She will be diving deep into meditation, what it is and how it works. Kara is a meditation and spiritual transformation coach, and has been practicing meditation for years to create calmness and joy in her own life.

I have been personally drawn to the practice of meditation. I have experienced the power and the benefits of being present. I really believe that mindfulness and meditation can help us in so many ways. After speaking with Kara I was so inspired. I felt such a calm come over me and that is why I am sharing this conversation and her knowledge with you today.

If you enjoy this conversation and want to learn more, you can visit Kara’s website KaraGoodwin.com, where you can listen to her “The Meditation Conversation” podcast as well.

We all have storms in our lives...this time it is literal.
There will not be a regular episode this week because of the storm heading our way. Yes, hurricane Nicole is coming. I’m preparing the boat and keeping myself safe this week. I have limited resources as it gets closer.
Last episode I did release the sleep meditation and also a bonus episode for the two year anniversary of the show for you to enjoy.
Thanks so much for understanding and I will be back next week with an incredible guest and another giveaway!

When life presents you with the opportunity to make big decisions, to change and transform your life, are you going willingly? Or is your ship sinking and you desperately need a lifeboat?

You may be optimistic and excited to see what’s in store. But, if you’ve had your share of bad days, even weeks, months or years, you can feel anxious, pressured and overwhelmed by the thought of change. It can be debilitating.

My guests, Zach Tucker and Jeremy Grater have battled their share of mental and physical health issues, parenting and relationships struggles and addiction and dependency issues (some their own). Through it all, they came out stronger. They want to share with you today how that is possible when you are on ... the verge of sinking in life.

Zach and Jeremy are the founders and hosts of The Fit Mess podcast. Jeremy is a Certified Transformation & REBT Mindset Coach. Zach is a Certified Yoga and Insanity Live coach.

Today they share with you their vulnerability and encourage you to get through that struggle and learn from it and become a better, healthier version of you!

We all face challenges in our lives from time to time. You might not be able to control everything that happens in your life, but you can control how you react to things. This means accepting that some things will go wrong, and learning to cope with those situations.

So, what do you do when life doesn’t turn out the way you thought it would? My guest, Deborah Fletcher and I will explore the power of resilience and joy.

You know that saying... “Life Happens”. Good or bad, it does. When life delivers those dark moments, how do we respond? Many of us stumble through and even push away from change, but it is in that change where we see the growth and discover a new path to peace.

Deborah received an invaluable message from her dad that got her through her challenges with her daughter's diagnosis with severe disabilities . She had the opportunity to choose how she would approach change, challenges, and grief associated with loss and disappointment.

She will inspire us to thrive and to find hope and acceptance of any situation. Build resilience into your life so that you can bounce back when things go wrong.

Today's episode is a bonus episode - my first ever!

Crossing your wake: another new day...two years later.

Crossing your wake is a nautical term to describe how you have gone around and looped over your original starting point of your journey

Well this is the two-year anniversary of the podcast and it's not as grand as circumnavigating the world but it is worth mentioning after two years and 86 episodes. It's time to celebrate!

So travel back in time with me, back to November 2020

Back to the beginning...

Stress can be a normal part of life. What we must realize is that the effects of anxiety and stress seem obvious when we talk about our thoughts, but what about the harm to the body? When it becomes overwhelming, it can affect our physical wellbeing.

Getting a health diagnosis can flood our system with stress. Exactly what you don’t need when your body is trying to fight and heal.

Sara Webb joins me today to discuss how to access the power you have inside by getting aligned with yourself spiritually, through introspection, that begins with meditation. With these techniques backed by science, you can process stress, improve daily happiness, and bring the best version of yourself to your own life.

She is an author, motivational speaker, and certified yoga teacher.

Meditation has been proven to be an effective way to relieve stress and improve overall mental health. Research shows that regular meditation improves mood, sleep quality, and even immune system function.
