In the mountains of central Appalachia, blood runs as deep as these hollers and just as dark. Since before our kind knew these hills, hearts of unknowable hunger and madness have slumbered beneath them. These are the darkest mountains in the world. How dare we think we can break the skin of a god and dig out its heart without bringing forth blood and darkness? Old Gods of Appalachia is a horror-anthology podcast set in the shadows of an Alternate Appalachia, a place where digging too deep into the mines was just the first mistake.

Listen to the entire epic series, which follows Survivors in Los Angeles after the world has been turned upside down.
It begins with “A Story of Survival” which spans from Chapters 1-48. Our survivors band together, fortify a safe haven known as the Tower, and discover that the Infected are far from the biggest threat they will have to face.
The adventure continues with two mini-series:
“Lockdown” - A small group of inmates and prison guards are trapped in the T-block at Twin Towers Jail. They are forced to work together and find a way to escape while the rest of the world ends around them.
“Goldrush” - Set 17 years after the main events of “A Story of Survival”, this is a recollection story that describes the efforts of the four Soldiers as they attempt a side mission to retrieve a suspected stash of gold bullion.
Our newest season is “We’re Alive: Descendants”:
The story of survival continues; the fight is not over.
18 years after the Outbreak, the world is starting to re-organize and rebuild, but many different forms of humanity are still struggling to survive in the aftermath. Nicholas Tink grew up in the shadow of his father- the late, great, Saul Tink. Little does he know that deep in the places where infected dwell, another descendant lies waiting.
Content Warning: This podcast contains descriptions of graphic violence, sexual references, and strong language. Listener discretion is advised.

This is the Scarlet Vault... Locked away here, in the rust-red rooms, are items too powerful, too dangerous to exist.
You may consider me the Custodian of this abominable museum of terrors.
Every item stored here is drenched in horror.
Every item, a weapon in the wrong hands.
And every item has a story.
Perhaps you would like to hear one?
'Tales from the Scarlet Vault' is a new and largely undiscovered no-budget supernatural anthology of original stories. It is written and produced by Jason Malvern and stars ? as the Custodian (he wishes to remain anonymous).
'Tales from the Scarlet Vault' occasionally contains swearing, sexual references and descriptions of violence and gore - but in our opinion - nothing too extreme or harrowing. The aim is to chill and entertain, not horrify and disturb!
Petrified - a horror fiction anthology podcast from a darker Ireland. Petrified tells the chilling tales of ordinary people encountering the supernatural, and their terrifying fates.
Written and directed by Peter Dunne. Produced by Liam Geraghty.

Monsters lurk among us.
The tattooed magician Evan Wexler and his werewolf partner V spend their nights prowling a shadowy underbelly full of frenzied monsters and mad sorcerers. Working for the mysterious organization known only as the Madhouse, they struggle to contain the threat of the Gloom, a malevolent force that breathes life into humanity’s worst nightmares and can make a heart’s darkest desires come true.
But Madhouse isn't the only organization of magicians interested in the workings of the Gloom. Deep in the heart of Texas there is another, crueler cabal of occult sorcerers that seek the Gloom's dark power. An organization dedicated to unfathomable ambition. An organization ready to declare a shadow war against the Madhouse. An organization attempting to bend reality to its will.
This is The 100 Handed.
WARNING: Contains mature themes and language, including graphic depictions of violence. Listener discretion is advised.

As an A&E nurse, Alfie deals with horror everyday, but almost being killed by a walking corpse and being saved by a vampire takes things a bit far, even for him. The vampire is Casper. He’s hundreds of years old, and hell-bent on finding out what's causing walking corpses to wander the streets of Alfie's hometown.
Now they've met, Alfie and Casper can't seem to leave each other alone, despite their best efforts. Alfie learns that the relationship between vampires and humans is more complicated than just predator and prey. Whatever Casper's misgivings about his own kind, and himself, Alfie is inexorably drawn closer and closer, in a heady, carnal blend of horror, hunger, love and lust.
Not Quite Dead is a (mostly) single narrator gory horror romance audio drama exploring themes of identity, sexuality and death. Totalling 40 episodes over 3 completed seasons, with S4 on the way in 2025.
This show is part of the Rusty Quill Network, and is created independently by Eira Major (AKA Hanging Sloth) who writes, sound designs, and performs as Alfie and Neige.

It is March, 1915 in France, and just behind the front lines a woman is running for her life. She does not run from enemy soldiers or falling mortars; a far more sinister creature stalks her, one created by bloodshed and black magic. This is the newest threat in a war growing uglier by the day, and it won't be the last. Or the worst.
But this woman is not a civilian. As a knight of the Order of Joan, she is only one of a legion of women with a long history of monster hunting. So when she runs, she does not do so blindly; it's all part of the larger plan.

Frequently Asked Questions About Horror Podcasts
What are horror podcasts?
Horror podcasts are audio shows that focus on delivering terrifying and chilling stories to the listeners. They often incorporate elements of suspense, supernatural occurrences, psychological thrillers, and other horror subgenres. These podcasts use sound effects, voice acting, and immersive storytelling techniques to create a spine-tingling experience.
What types of horror podcasts are available?
Horror podcasts encompass a wide range of subgenres and storytelling styles. Some common types of horror podcasts include supernatural horror, true crime horror, psychological horror, Lovecraftian horror, ghost stories, and urban legends. Each subgenre offers a unique approach to horror storytelling, catering to different preferences and interests.
Are horror podcasts suitable for all audiences?
Horror podcasts are typically targeted towards adult audiences due to their intense and often frightening content. They may contain graphic descriptions, violence, strong language, and mature themes. However, some horror podcasts are specifically designed for younger audiences and offer age-appropriate scares. It's essential to check the rating or content warnings of a horror podcast before listening, especially if you're sensitive to intense or disturbing material.
Are horror podcasts based on true stories?
While some horror podcasts are based on real-life events or inspired by true stories, many of them are entirely fictional. Creators often draw inspiration from urban legends, folklore, and their own imaginations to craft captivating horror narratives.
