The best podcasts for fans of horror and suspense.

Who am I?

By day, I am humble cyber security professional. By night, I am a writer of tales of horror and suspense. Since a young age, I have enjoyed telling a good horror story. Watching people get frightened as their own imagination run wild is part of the fun. Occasionally, I may weave a little social commentary into the stories I spin. I have always been fascinated with being scared. Your own mind and body betray you even though you know your fear is probably unfounded. To this point, I have always been drawn to things that have been intentionally created to invoke a flight response.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

Moments In Space in Time is a micro fiction podcast that specializes in horror and suspense. Each episode contains a tale that runs under five minutes usually. They are usually standalone stories, but sometimes popular episodes are revisited. The stories will take you to frightening possible futures, bring light to terrors from the past and even show the horrors that are happening in the here and now. If you are a fan of anthology horror, such as The Twilight Zone or The Outer Limits, you will enjoy the podcast.

What is my podcast playlist about?

I have chose some other podcasts that inspire me to create content for my podcast and entertain me. Hopefully, you will find some enjoyment among those that I have listed.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. Alice Isn't Dead

Why this podcast?

This podcast is portrayed as series of audio diaries by a truck driver in her search across America for the wife she had long assumed was dead (the eponymous Alice). In the course of her search, she encounters not-quite-human serial murderers, towns literally lost in time, and a conspiracy that goes way beyond her missing wife. At first, you think you are on a simple search for answers, but you are soon taken down a rabbit hole of "what ifs"? There are times where you can feel the dread at what is coming and still listen in the faint hope you are wrong.

4. Welcome to Night Vale

Why this podcast?

The format of this podcast is news stories from the fictional town of Night Vale, but it is much more than that. There are long form narratives that take place where events and characters appear time and time again in episodes. While not overly scary, it is delightful weird and very addictive to listen to.
