Legend tells of seven gates needed to be crossed before a portal will take you directly there. The history of the location, filled with anger and violence is said to be what caused the portal to open but is there any truth in the history that is told?

In the Boulders Scenic Reserve there's a cursed area haunted by the spirit of an ancient aboriginal woman. Torn from her true love, she lives beneath the surface waiting for him to return.
Many, especially men, who have ignored the signs of danger and ventured into the area are said to have been pulled down to the depths of the Devil's Pool to their deaths.
Does her spirit truly haunt the waters of Devil's Pool? Or is there a more reasonable explanation for the deaths?

Today a ghost haunts the Old City Jail in Charleston, South Carolina, one said to be in a white wedding dress looking for more victims to add to her list. Her name is Lavinia Fisher and she's often called America's first female serial killer.
The legends say in 1819 the authorities of Charleston, South Carolina raided the Six Mile Wayfarer Hotel just outside of the city looking for a group of thieves. Instead they found more than they bargained for and discovered a hotel of horrors.
The owners, John and Lavinia Fisher, were arrested and charged with over 100 counts of murder and Lavinia Fisher went down in history as America's first female serial killer. But if we look at the events surrounding the case was she really the evil entity the legends say she is?

Between the years of 1990 and 1995 several women were found dead near the highways of several states including Oregon, Washington, Florida, and Nebraska. After the cases became cold, a letter arrived at the offices of the Oregonian Newspaper claiming to take responsibility for the murders including that of the supposedly solved case of a 23 year old woman named Taunja Bennett. The letter had a simple signature, that of a happy face.
Were the people sitting in prison for the murder of Taunja Bennett actually innocent? And who was the Happy Face Killer?

In 1938 Carl Pruitt found his wife in bed with another man. Crazed with uncontrollable anger he strangled his wife with a chain and then shot himself. Unfortunately for Pulaski County, Kentucky, Carl's anger manifested a curse upon his gravestone. When people began hearing the stories some dared Carl Pruitt's spirit to show itself, it would be the last request they would ever make.

On April 21st, 1907 the Chicago Tribune published a story of a Russian steamer called The Parrier docked off the coast of Santa Monica, California. The crew aboard the ship had been attacked by some unseen force driving them mad forcing them to take their own lives or that of their crewmates.
Several decades later the same thing happened aboard the Ivan Vassili forcing the ship to be docked and unused. The story appearing in The Minneapolis Star on April 14th, 1940. But did any of this actually happen? And if not why are two ships reported in newspapers as having succumbed to the same invisible terror?

In Montego Bay, Jamaica the historic Rose Hall stands as a museum detailing its history on the island but at night many have claimed to see the spirit of one of its previous owners. An owner who had a dark history herself, one marred in witchcraft, torture, and murder.
