Legend tells of seven gates needed to be crossed before a portal will take you directly there. The history of the location, filled with anger and violence is said to be what caused the portal to open but is there any truth in the history that is told?

Between the years of 1990 and 1995 several women were found dead near the highways of several states including Oregon, Washington, Florida, and Nebraska. After the cases became cold, a letter arrived at the offices of the Oregonian Newspaper claiming to take responsibility for the murders including that of the supposedly solved case of a 23 year old woman named Taunja Bennett. The letter had a simple signature, that of a happy face.

Legends say just prior to afternoon along the Platte River in Wyoming there's a chance a strange mist will appear without warning and if you stay long enough, from beyond the mist, a sailing ship will become visible.
The ship itself carries an undead crew and if you're unlucky they'll show you the ghostly body of a loved one destined to die. A premonition or a curse?

On February 5th, 1923 a small town named Hoer Verde and it's 600 inhabitants disappeared with only the phrase "There is no salvation" left on a chalkboard.
It's a mystery that has been popping up more recently thanks to the video game Control in 2019 and a BBC Audio Drama from 2020.
Today on Myths, Mysteries, & Monsters we go through the maze for the origins of this legend and try to find if the town ever really existed and if it didn't, who started the legend.

Today a ghost haunts the Old City Jail in Charleston, South Carolina, one said to be in a white wedding dress looking for more victims to add to her list. Her name is Lavinia Fisher and she's often called America's first female serial killer.
The legends say in 1819 the authorities of Charleston, South Carolina raided the Six Mile Wayfarer Hotel just outside of the city looking for a group of thieves. Instead they found more than they bargained for and discovered a hotel of horrors.
The owners, John and Lavinia Fisher, were arrested and charged with over 100 counts of murder and Lavinia Fisher went down in history as America's first female serial killer. But if we look at the events surrounding the case was she really the evil entity the legends say she is?

In the mid-20th century those looking for love and companionship could join Lonely Hearts Clubs in hopes of finding someone they could match with. But sometimes those searching the lonely hearts catalogs weren't interested in love,
Raymond Fernandez and Martha Beck were two of those not in need of companionship, instead they wanted money and sometimes their scams ended in murder. Dubbed the Lonely Hearts Killers, these two scoured lonely hearts magazines in the late 1940's looking for victims.

There is a bridge a few short miles away from Weatherford, Oklahoma where many have reported seeing the spirit of a woman looking for her baby before disappearing. Others have reported seeing a blue light hovering around the bridge before hearing the pained screams of a woman.
Though the accounts of ghostly figures are up for debate, the origin for the spirit and the area known as Dead Woman's Crossing stems from a true unsolved murder from over a hundred years ago that still haunts the area today.

On the morning of February 9th,1855 residents of Devon, England awoke to find cloven footprints burned into the snow in a straight line.
Reaching almost a hundred miles in a straight line there has yet to be any concrete explanation for the tracks unless you believe it was the Devil himself.
