Producer Jaime ("Jemmy"​) Legagneur founded the Flint Stone Media Podcast Network as a Florida-focused set of shows aimed at positively impacting my local community. FSMPN is an organic and entertaining collection of podcasts that increases local innovation, explores the arts, and encourages collaboration through insights, information, and a lot of laughs. She is well versed in helping podcasters in getting started and staying motivated to keep their podcasts relevant.
On this episode, I wanted to know the personal side of Jaime. Even thought she is not a veteran, her expertise and insight is helping everyone including veterans to help people start and grow their podcast throughout her courses, ClubHouse, and Instagram.
Listen in as we do lots of laughing (I mean a lot) and discuss her love of zombies, and why she hates her right lung to her love of wanting to skydive but absolutely hates roller coasters. It was a fun podcast to say the least.

Full Bio:
Producer Jaime Legagneur is the host and producer of her own show, Business in the Bedroom, and has grown her business producing podcasts and managing podcast networks. She first founded her business, Flint Stone Media, as a digital marketing firm before discovering podcasting in 2014 and launching her first show, Curve the Cube. She began working as a Production Coordinator for the Horse Radio Network in the summer of 2017, eventually working her way up to being their Production Manager. During this time, she honed her podcasting skills and began helping other independent podcasters launch shows, focusing Flint Stone Media to be a podcast production house and winning the 2017 “In Yo Face” podcasting award.
She spent the following years honing her podcasting expertise and founded the Florida Podcast Network in August 2017. A Floridian since 1982, creating a network centered around her home state was a natural fit. She then began growing her FPN vision into a reality, by helping local brands and businesses get into the space and propel Florida’s entrepreneurial prosperity forward through the power of podcasting! Horse Radio Network founder, Glenn “the Geek” Hebert, now travels around the State with Jaime as cohost for FPN’s flagship show, Finding Florida, and they also host Florida Podcasting News. Most recently, she launched People of Florida as her first solo show in over two years!
Since then, Jaime has also been the organizer of the Palm Beach Podcasters MeetUp group and the Director of The Wedding Biz Network. Most recently, Jaime earned the privilege of not only being the first Podcasting Instructor for the Connecticut School of Broadcasting, but also receiving Podfest‘s 2020 High Achiever Award.
Like most Floridians, though Jaime wasn’t BORN in the Sunshine State, she proudly claims it. After first living in Miami for a couple of years, her family moved north to Boca Raton, where she grew up. They planted roots there and witnessed the town develop around them.
Jaime attended Pine Crest Schools in Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale and then studied business at Tulane University (B.S. in Information Systems Management and Finance, minor in Psychology) and law at the University of Virginia.

What if the most powerful mental health intervention was simply asking someone "How are you?" and truly listening to their answer? Dr. Iran McGann, psychologist and former Israeli military officer, has built his life's work around this deceptively simple approach.
From his unique perspective as someone who served in a country where "being a veteran isn't really a thing because everybody's a veteran," Dr. Magen bridges worlds that rarely intersect. He draws compelling parallels between military and medical cultures—both demanding heroism, suppressing vulnerability, and facing alarmingly high suicide rates. This insight led him to create Early Alert, an innovative suicide prevention system that texts regular wellness check-ins to vulnerable populations, connecting them with resources when needed.
Dr. Magen's work extends deeply into family dynamics, particularly through his organizations Parenting for Humans and Divorcing Dads. He challenges our focus on tactical parenting problems, instead emphasizing relationship quality: "The better the relationship, the easier everything is." His approach to supporting divorcing fathers addresses a critical gap in mental health services, noting that men experience significantly higher suicide rates during divorce than women, largely due to isolation and lack of support networks.
Perhaps most powerfully, Dr. Magen reframes our understanding of how divorce affects children. "What's bad for kids isn't divorce—it's conflict between parents," he explains, advocating for children to remain children during family transitions, not messengers, spies, or judges between warring parents. His practical guidance reminds us that self-care (particularly adequate sleep) forms the foundation for healthy relationships, and that small daily "deposits" of attention and respect build the connection children need to thrive.

V2I also serves to break the circle of ignorance by listing companies that have opportunities for veterans, those that have specific military hiring programs, those that are on the 100 Military Friendly companies list, and those that selflessly provide Fortune 500 mentors for a year to transitioning service members through their partnership with American Corporate Partners. The goal is to educate all 220,000 to 240,000 transitioning service members each year and their dependents on free resources to ease their transition and life needs, and more importantly, provide hope.

It is funny speaking of my experience as a story. I assume my eyes roll back as I think of what to share. It wasn’t all bad but it wasn’t all good either. It is finding that balance of sharing that it was real but leaving out how real it all was. My mind tends to drift to being in high school watching the battle for Kuwait. It was like a video game and honestly until I was there I didn’t think the lights were deadly. I now know that when the lights reached their destination there was destruction, death.

I don’t speak of my time in the military much because I remember roses that smell so good and how we couldn’t, my battles and I, couldn’t smell them anymore. Instead, there was smoke and the decaying of flesh. We didn’t speak about it but we knew the Iraqis who would greet us as we marveled at the roses and their smell, didn’t make it.

I am a disabled combat veteran who served 11 years in the United States Army. I have worked with nonprofits, in the state of Florida as well as with other stakeholders on the behalf of Veterans the majority of my adult life. From these experiences, it prompted me to question, why isn’t more done for my fellow females Veterans? I decided to do something myself and fill a void I see that was lacking in my community. Perhaps, I will find the answer to the question I seek. But, most definitely I will help my fellow female Veteran.

This led me to the establishment of the nonprofit, My Seester, Inc. I was fueled by the Department of Veteran Affairs reporting that female Veterans are the fastest growing homeless group. And, with Florida being home of the second largest Veteran population most of those homeless female Veterans are in Florida. Resulting in I recognizing immediately more could be done.

In addition, by experiencing first-hand how the story of the transitioned female Veteran tends not to be by the woman who is or had lived it. Rather, it is a story told by the clinician, who heard her words and interpreted them. I knew it was not when but now I had to do something.

Despite other aspects of my biography I could have used, I decided to use the opportunity to share about My Seester. The organization with the mission of helping prevent the transitioned female Veteran from falling in the cracks or if they are in the cracks help them out of it. I am keenly aware that if I decided to turn left and not right, my faith would be different. As a female veteran, I am also aware it would not only be different but more difficult. Since the assumption is I served, so I must have all the opportunities and services my male counterparts have.

My Seester is ensuring that the female veteran is aware of their benefits and services. Additionally, the organization will always give female Veterans, like myself, the opportunity to share their story with a battle, a fellow female Veteran, a Seester. It is a way to ensure, “I see you. So, you will never be overlooked” are more than words but followed by impactful action.
