Brian Arrington - Vets2Industry Founder - Setting Up Transitioning Military Members for Success in the Civilian World

Sisters-in-Service

Our passion is to help the military community…

Brian started Vets2Industry to provide a free resource library for the military community – active, guard, reserve, veteran, military-spouse, dependent children, Blue-Star & Gold-Star Families, and caregivers – so they know which organizations provide free services and benefits. V2I also serves to break the circle of ignorance by listing companies that have opportunities for veterans, those that have specific military hiring programs, those that are on the 100 Military Friendly companies list, and those that selflessly provide Fortune 500 mentors for a year to transitioning service members through their partnership with American Corporate Partners. The goal is to educate all 220,000 to 240,000 transitioning service members each year and their dependents on free resources to ease their transition and life needs, and more importantly, provide hope.

Elisa Escalante - Uncovering the Invisible Wounds of Military Trauma

Want to be a guest or know someone would be a great fit? I am looking for military vets, active duty, military brats, veteran service orgs or anyone in the fitness industry

Unseen is centered around military trauma from the perspective of a mental health technician, Elisa Escalante, that deployed to Afghanistan and continued to dedicate herself to clinical work with veterans post military service.

Unseen is an informative, critical, and empathetic look into the mental health side of military and veteran affairs. It highlights how both trauma and military adjustment stressors impact individuals on a social, spiritual, emotional, occupational, and psychological level. Elisa Escalante expresses views on resiliency and what it means to readjust post deployment. She also expresses views on the complexity of getting help in an organization that stigmatizes mental health treatment, viewing it as a form of weakness.

In addition, Elisa writes on topics involving marginalized populations in the military and the uniqueness of clinical treatment toward veterans with suicidal/ homicidal ideation. Unseen enhances education and insight for all veterans, veteran family members, mental health clinicians, and students looking to help veterans in the social and mental realm. It also includes military trauma stories as well as a self-help segment with Q&A, self-interventions, and resources.

Frank Manteau - Marine Veteran and CEO of Crayons Ready-to-Eat

Want to be a guest or know someone would be a great fit? I am looking for military vets, active duty, military brats, veteran service orgs or anyone in the fitness industry

After leaving the Marines due to injuries, Frank wanted to make a difference not only in his life but also his kids lives. Being a single parent and dealing with transition, he realized his talents in woodworking and established Kamikaze Wood Werks.
He then had the brilliant idea from a Marine nickname (Crayon Eaters)that he had never heard of before and came up with the idea of crayons that could draw on paper and you could also eat. Thus Crayons Ready-to-Eat was born.
