Today's show of Work-Life Harmonized is all about how to prevent burnout before it happens. Especially for women who are juggling multiple roles (which is most of us). Dana talk about the vicious cycle of burnout, and the often forgotten way of reducing the effects. It is time to crush it!

Recipe:

Dana’s Famous Pozole

(Traditional Mexican soup with a twist)

Ingredients:

2 small cans hominy or 1 large
3 jars of your fav enchilada sauces. Mix red and green for spice and flavor (or the pouches are good too)
1 large onion
Fresh garlic (4-5 cloves or more)
Avocado oil
Cilantro for garnish
Rotisserie chicken (whole)
1-2 cartons of bone broth (chicken or beef or vege)
sour cream for garnish

Procedures:

This is so easy. Sauté onions and garlic with oil on an instapot if you have one or a large pot on the stove l. Then add chicken in pieces. Pour all other ingredients on top and pressure cook on high for 20 min. Or on stove for 30 minutes or so. Serve hot with garnishes. Try it with cheese on top. Quesadillas on the side or grilled cheese. My kids fav.

Why did you start this show?

Work-Life Harmonized was born of my frustration with work-life balance, especially as it concerns women. This myth that to be successful, we have to strive for a fictional balance. But the truth is, our lives are unique, and our definition of a successful and fulfilled life is too. There is another way. And it’s fueled by putting yourself first and then helping others; something that women struggle to do every day when wearing multiple hats, many of which go unnoticed, unpaid, and undervalued.

What do you hope listeners gain from listening to your show?

I hope that my listeners learn actionable advice on how to make changes within their lives to prioritize themselves and their joy, without sacrificing value or productivity.

Which episode should someone start with?

Season 4, Episode 1: A Brand New Start is a great place to start if you want to get a feel for the new direction of the show. Season 3, Episode 29: The Life of a Hula Dancer is a wonderful episode with 2022 award-winning hula dancer, Pi’ikea Lopes. Here we are unapologetically honest and working toward living an authentic life by paving the path for others based on actions, not mere words or ideals.

How did you come up with the name for your podcast?

Work-Life Harmonized is a play on Work-life Balance; which is a myth. It's not about balancing work against all life's different facets. It's about harmoniously integrating all of the parts of life in a way that makes sense for YOU (and nobody else).

I am a multi-passionate coach, author, podcaster, and leadership expert. I worked in the corporate world of Silicon Valley as a renowned leadership coach and consultant and helped thousands of people and teams evolve into better leaders. My once-exclusive approach is now available, accessible, and actionable so that the next generations of harmonious leaders become the rule instead of the exception.
