Katie Dragos is a mindset and personal growth coach, nutrition mentor, full-time marketer, triathlete, marathoner, and wife and mom of 2 extremely active boys. Currently working full-time in marketing, she has combined her love of creativity and helping others with a focus on getting busy mamas out of the hustle and into their own power with a one-on-one coaching program called “Unleash Your Awesome.”

Working in a hectic marketing and television corporate environment for over 16 years, Katie knows the struggle of trying to make work and life feel balanced, healthy, and fun. After having her first son, she discovered a life-changing nutrition system that allowed for her to regain her confidence and get back into working out and running, all while having a baby and continuing to work full-time. She took on coaching roles helping other mothers achieve their health goals, hosting running meetups and stroller walks. One year after having her first son, she ran her first full marathon, and did the same after having her second son.

Five years into her nutrition journey, she has more energy than ever and wants to spread the joy that she experiences daily to other mothers in her community. She co-founded the Anne Arundel Fit Moms group, and together they host free weekly mom meetups and mom’s nights out. This positive mom’s community has grown to over 1,000 members in the Maryland area.

Through empathy and one-on-one conversations, she is passionate about helping other busy mamas identify the missing link to finding their joy, manage their time more efficiently, and do less in order to achieve more. Katie and Kari discuss finding the perfect routine with active kids, receiving feedback positively, and how to combat overwhelm and anxiety.

Let's face it. There is a lot of noise out there. Everywhere you turn there is another program trying to teach you a new strategy to beat the algorithm and have your next 6-figure launch. But what if I told you the key to your success can't be found in the next strategy or system but in you laying a solid foundation into your business infrastructure?

Now more than ever your business foundation matters. When the chaos is high and we’re faced with new situations, having a solid foundation will set us above the competition. Inside my programs, we focus on six guiding principles that are the fundamentals of our business. We've found that when these are in place, the process of uncovering your own unique voice (which is the key to standing out in the crowd!) becomes second nature. We also believe that we are here to do a lifetime’s work, not a season, so laying a strong foundation is the key to having everything we want.

On top of that, focusing on these principles gives us clarity on who we are and how we serve the world in only the way WE can. And when we have that clarity, the confidence comes easy and this business becomes fun!

And isn't that the point? We think so!

Do you want to learn more in a no-stress, no-pressure coaching session? I’ve decided to open up my calendar for the next few weeks for FREE 30 MINUTE coaching sessions. You can use these 30 minutes to talk about whatever is coming up for you - business, anxiety, fear, navigating the chaos, ANYTHING - and I will hold that space for you and support you in whatever way I can. It's free and ZERO strings attached. Book your call from my Instagram page!

HIGHLIGHTS

0:39 - It's not about a better strategy.

3:08 - #1: Get connected to your brand's ethos

4:50 - #2: Know your ideal client better than anyone else

6:18 - #3: Define the problem you solve in one word

7:45 - #4: Be a master at sales

9:19 - #5: Take care of your people

10:35 - #6: There's no failure, only feedback

I know in times like these it can be challenging to release anxiety and fear over what might happen, but truth be told this is where you get to put all of those tools you've been learning by reading the books and listening to the podcasts and going to the events into practice. In early 2014, after nearly a decade in the corporate world, Women& Inc founder Lindsay Roselle sought out a group of successful, supportive women to connect with as mentors to help her generate ideas and brainstorm solutions to challenges related to her small business. Realizing that few opportunities for that type of connection already existed outside of a personal network, Lindsay had the initial idea for what would later become Women& Inc.

By Spring 2015, Lindsay had shared the idea with several other entrepreneurial women in Fort Collins who all expressed similar desires for connection, so the first event - Women& Whiskey - was planned for late March. Expecting 15-20 women to come, almost 90 showed up, and the organization was officially born. Since then, Women& Inc has hosted connection events every other month focused on bringing women together to learn more about each other, share advice and ideas, and get educated about craft spirits at Social.

In this episode of Work Hard Mom Hard, Lindsay and Kari share their top advice for new moms, a shocking statistic for women-owned businesses (that we can change), why women need to be in a room together, why you shouldn’t play it safe in your businesses, and much more. This episode is a lighthouse in the storm for all you business owners and moms. Fellow boy moms unite!

HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR CONVERSATION

1:50 - Who Lindsay serves and the problem she solves for them

5:46 - Creating a mentoring myself for women-business owners
