Sometimes everything feels a little black and white. Lack of 'grey areas' can make us doubt ourselves and our decisions, both personally and especially professionally. Do we do this or that? Should we try or not? Are we ready to scale or is it too soon?

Today I have the pleasure of talking to Victoria Marshman, Co-Founder of City MOGULS, a community of purpose driven entrepreneurs that are helping build the next generation of leaders through year-round programming, resources, mentorship, and experiences.

Victoria has been a part of the Frame of Mind CoachingTM community for quite a while, and now she brings a very interesting challenge to the conversation: how to scale her company. First, we discuss the different ways to scale: through partnerships, licensing, bringing a few more experts onto the team, and of course, through technology. And for this, she needs to pick one scaling option that sits well with her.

But making the choice is just the first step. While Victoria chooses to bring more people to the team, it doesn't end there! We then discuss the importance of good communication and how to bring these new people up to speed, as well as how to create a replicable training process that can easily be handed over to others to run on behalf of the company.

Do you feel guilty if you don’t put in a certain amount of hours at work? And do you also feel guilty if you don’t spend enough time with your family, because you’re way too exhausted from work? It can cause an infinite loop. Unless...

Welcome to another episode of The Frame of Mind CoachingTM Podcast! Today I have the pleasure of coaching Tanner Stewart, Co-Founder & CEO at Stewart Farms, a technology company focused on indoor, sustainable Cannabis production and CPG development.

Tanner comes to me with a popular issue: exhaustion from work. So Tanner works himself to the bone, putting in the hours and then some. So it’s only logical that when he comes home to his family, he’s way too tired to actually spend quality time with them, and that frustrates him. But if he works fewer hours, Tanner feels like he’s not doing his part, and then he feels guilty and anxious.

I’ve seen this a million times. So I encourage Tanner to change his way of thinking. Because that’s all it is: a thinking problem. His beliefs say “I have to do this and nobody else can”, so right now his desires and beliefs are not lined up with his goals. His desire is to have more time with his family, but his belief is that no one else can do any part of what he does at work. But the minute he starts changing that is the minute Tanner will feel way more relaxed and energized to go play with his kids without having the anxiety of an out-of-control company.

The Frame of Mind Coaching™ Podcast - The Strategy That Flows Naturally - Slowing Down to Speed Up: With Daniel Marcos
play

10/12/21 • 18 min

It’s true that the world moves faster and faster, and we tend to feel the need to move as fast as we can too, just to keep up. The issue is that sometimes that isn’t such a good idea. We don’t think about our next move, through properly in our haste, and we end up getting hurt. Therefore, our business gets hurt. But we often don’t realize that the best way to solve this is by slowing down! You may be asking yourself: how is that even possible?

In this brand new episode of The Frame of Mind CoachingTM Podcast, I have the HONOR of not only talking to, but actually coaching, the amazing Daniel Marcos! Daniel is the Co-Founder and CEO at Growth Institute, a premiere online training company specialized in business growth and scaling.

Today we tackle an important issue: what could be the best strategy for when you’re trying to keep up with the world? Daniel tells me that lately he and his team feel exhausted and discouraged when their expectations are not met. And when I ask him what he has done to try and fix it, he says they change the strategy over and over again.

But that’s the trap! So I encourage Daniel to actually slow down for a moment, take a step back, sit down with his team and think “how are we thinking about this? What are the beliefs we have that are leading us to feel discouraged and tired?". That way they’ll better understand how to move forward and regain their productivity.

There are certain topics, especially when it comes to disease, that have the exact same reactions. For example, what’s the first thing on your mind when you hear the word “cancer”? Now think, what does it mean for cancer survivors and their families? Can you imagine a world where the cancer experience is de-stigmatized?
In today’s episode of The Frame of Mind CoachingTM Podcast, I have the absolute pleasure of coaching Lauren Huffmaster, Founder of the Adventure Therapy Foundation and co-creator of RISE app. In this coaching call, we dive in Lauren’s experience as a breast cancer survivor and what that has meant for her family, how she got the idea of healing the global perspective on cancer survivorship in order to build her foundation, retreats and app, and how she’s turning other patients’ and their families’ experiences around cancer into adventures. We also explore ways to get funding from organizations. Join us to hear more about Lauren’s story and her cause!
And on that note, Lauren invites us to The 5K Be A Challenger Race, a virtual event that will help Adventure Therapy Foundation raise money to sponsor retreats for families impacted by cancer! Running from now until May 9th.

It is a reminder that it’s okay to be happy even though these terrible things happen. You've got this trauma in your life. It's okay to be happy together, to laugh again. It's okay to try new things and sort of re-engage in life. (...) There’s still life ahead. It’s not just this. This isn’t the end. There’s plenty of life ahead, we just have to go and grab it.” Lauren says as she explains the purpose of the retreats her foundation offers.

The Frame of Mind Coaching™ Podcast - Encapsulation And The Five Coaching Steps: With Nancy Myers
play

11/09/21 • 24 min

It’s not uncommon to be confused as to why people can’t see us for our intelligence or talent. Instead they'd rather question our experience and abilities. But what really makes the difference is what we do in those situations.

On this brand new episode of The Frame of Mind CoachingTM Podcast we have an amazing guest. Her name is Nancy Myers, she is the COO at RapStar Energy Drink, and recently changed gears in her career to the energy drink industry.

Today Nancy comes to me with a very frustrating issue: while being on the job, people around her, including her own team, tend to underestimate her. And she doesn’t know how to approach these people and make them understand how incredible she is at her job. So what I suggest doing is following the Five Coaching Steps, and specifically the step of encapsulation.

Why? As you follow these steps, encapsulation is the bow on the coaching gift - by encapsulating what the other person is communicating, you are describing the problem and verifying if what you got from the conversation is exactly what they meant to say and express. That way people can know that you understand them and establish trust.

Do you feel that you are the only one who can do certain things, otherwise they simply won’t get done? Do you constantly feel like there's just not enough time to do every single one of those things? Do you feel overwhelmed? If yes, your problem might not be what you think -- it might just be a thinking problem.

In this brand new episode of The Frame of Mind CoachingTM Podcast, we welcome an amazing, very highly-driven, young entrepreneur. His name is Asad Jalib and he is the President and Founder of Dirt Technologies Inc., a construction-technology startup that helps earthmovers save time and money by helping them move and track soil in a digital, and cost-effective way while maintaining regulation compliance.

Asad brings to the conversation one of the most common challenges that entrepreneurs encounter: the limitation of time. Between working at his own company and starting a new job, he wonders what the best way would be to manage his time, how he could prioritize, etc. Today we discuss his challenge, what’s behind that feeling, and how it’s not actually related to time at all!

The Frame of Mind Coaching™ Podcast - Reducing Public Speaking Anxiety With Coaching: With Joel Clelland
play

12/14/21 • 22 min

Have you ever struggled with anxiety? What about anxiety caused by having a conversation and anticipating how that conversation would go? Well, my guest has.

Today I’d like to introduce to you Joel Clelland. Joel is the CEO at Centric, an innovative dual-token digital currency company focused on the global adoption and use of cryptocurrency. In this thrilling conversation, Joel tells me that he feels like he’s struggling with the conversation side of business. What he means is that when he has to speak in public, he tends to really dissect what he’s going to say beforehand, and pays attention to his words and intentions. But when the time comes to actually speak, Joel gets nervous and sometimes ends up missing information or saying the wrong thing, when all he wants to do is spread his message. To help Joel, I recommend following the Five Coaching Steps, all the way to encapsulation, which will ultimately help him say the right words and reach the connections he’s after.

In addition, Joel also struggles with anxiety. Before meetings, before conferences, before a webinar. But it mostly comes from his fear of missing something when speaking. That makes Joel feel uncomfortable. And that’s okay! What I say to him is that he should play it out so it fails. “But what does that mean, Kim?” Well, anxiety comes from fearing the worst, right? So if we imagine what the worst-case scenario could be, then we can imagine recovery, and when we do, then we can start focusing on success.
