The Adventure of Cancer: With Lauren Huffmaster
04/22/21 • 24 min
In today’s episode of The Frame of Mind CoachingTM Podcast, I have the absolute pleasure of coaching Lauren Huffmaster, Founder of the Adventure Therapy Foundation and co-creator of RISE app. In this coaching call, we dive in Lauren’s experience as a breast cancer survivor and what that has meant for her family, how she got the idea of healing the global perspective on cancer survivorship in order to build her foundation, retreats and app, and how she’s turning other patients’ and their families’ experiences around cancer into adventures. We also explore ways to get funding from organizations. Join us to hear more about Lauren’s story and her cause!
And on that note, Lauren invites us to The 5K Be A Challenger Race, a virtual event that will help Adventure Therapy Foundation raise money to sponsor retreats for families impacted by cancer! Running from now until May 9th.
“It is a reminder that it’s okay to be happy even though these terrible things happen. You've got this trauma in your life. It's okay to be happy together, to laugh again. It's okay to try new things and sort of re-engage in life. (...) There’s still life ahead. It’s not just this. This isn’t the end. There’s plenty of life ahead, we just have to go and grab it.” Lauren says as she explains the purpose of the retreats her foundation offers.

The “Should Be” Way of Thinking: With Paul Weston
Sometimes we feel like things aren’t going our way. Not getting your printer to work, being late because of somebody else, or just taking more time than usual to open a package of batteries. Pretty frustrating, right? Feels like things aren’t working the way they should be. But what happens when we remove the “should be” factor from the equation?
Today in The Frame of Mind CoachingTM Podcast, I’m SO HAPPY to be coaching Paul Weston, President & Head of Solutions at Andrew Jane Consulting. In this episode we discuss the effect that an accumulation of tiny events have on our mood, how people can make excuses to feel bad, and how the “should be” way of thinking can control us and our actions.
On top of ALL that, Paul and I also talk about his most recent book Running in the Rain, which is about creating strategies for a more productive and fulfilling life. You can also check out his new Distraction Freedom program, where you’ll be able to discover how working in a distraction-free environment can help you not only get better results, but increase your quality of life and reclaim more time to spend with your loved ones as well.

How To Quickly Spread Your Idea: With Wanda Toro Turini
Have you ever noticed the gigantic amount of brochures that everybody gets in conferences? Do people really need those? What if there was a more eco-friendly way to share this material? Well, my guest found one fantastic solution, but has a little bit of trouble getting the word out.
Today I’m SO EXCITED to be coaching the brilliant Wanda Toro Turini, inventor of ecoFiles and Founder of Ketchwords. In this episode of The Frame of Mind CoachingTM Podcast, Wanda talks about how she came up with the idea of ecoFiles and Ketchwords, the struggles of launching a platform (specifically designed for in-person conferences) right before a global pandemic, and how the situation became a blessing in disguise for this marketing tool and its users. And with this, we also discuss a list of key strategies to quickly spread your ideas. Join me on this episode to know more!
