The Flaming Yoni
Áine + Scarlet
We are sexually liberated unshamed & transformed women, and we believe our highest calling is to journey with other femmes in their exploration and embodiment of their own sacred and sovereign sexuality.
Yoni is a Sanskrit word that has been interpreted to mean the "womb", or the "source". For yoni-bearers, the yoni also is the anchoring point for the root chakra, where our kundalini - or life force energy - lies coiled like a serpent. When our Kundalini is activated through sexual energy, a fire is lit deep within that illuminates a profound understanding of the Yoniverse.
TFY is about the uniquely feminine experience of sexual empowerment rising from the ashes against all odds. Systems of power have conspired to keep women from the full embodiment of our sexual agency for centuries. Our mission is not new - it is eternal. Sex and Pleasure deserve to be in the heart center of our life's journey.
The Flaming Yoni is a celebration of the beautiful & unique expressions of female sexuality - from asexual to megasexual, from life-long monogamy to relationship anarchy, from deep spiritual bonds of sacred union to spur-of-the-moment flings - it is ALL infused with Yoni Energy.
So dive deep with us as we invite incredible guests to share their burning passion for embodied, liberated sexuality. Welcome to the Yoniverse. You will not leave the same as when you came.

Triple Wound Series :: The Witch Wound
The Flaming Yoni
02/22/23 • 44 min
Whew...it’s been an intense couple of weeks in the Yoniverse, and we are wrapping it up this week with the final installment in the Triple Wound Series...the Witch Wound. This Wound, like the Mother and Sister Wounds, is an inherited and collective trauma for femmes. This particular wound has its origin in the witch hunt and trials that began in the 15th century - and this “gendercide” reportedly took the lives of an estimated 13 million women throughout Europe and North America alone. Ultimately, the Witch Wound manifests as a fear of being seen, speaking up, and stepping into your full magic and power.
In this episode of The Flaming Yoni:
- How the Witch Wound has materialized in each of our lives...from as early as adolescence up through current days and how we show up in our families of origin.
- Even in our awareness of this wound and how it shows up for us, we are still impacted by desiring to show up in our full authenticity...but we use pseudonyms because we know that this world is not kind to sexually empowered women, and other aspects of our lives need to remain protected.
- Healing the Witch Wound - do we choose to live in fear, or mindfully make a different choice?
- Limiting beliefs about embodying our fullness, and claiming the words and identifiers that describe us.
- Ultimately, this wound is about separation from Self, and healing it is unsurprisingly about union with Self and claiming and stepping into your full authentic power.

In this episode of The Flaming Yoni:
- The complications of entering into the holiday season;
- The beautiful support and feedback we’ve received from Episode 2 of TFY;
- Why sexuality medicine doesn’t actually “treat” anything or contribute to sexual health;

- How the old school safer sex elevator speech turned into STARS;
- STIs as the perfect metaphor for our internalized sex negativity;
- The mind-body disconnect the majority of people experience with sex;

- How to have the “scary” STARS talk - Sexual Health, Turn Ons, Avoids, Relationship Expectations and Intentions, Safety Needs.

TERFs in Divine Feminine Clothing
The Flaming Yoni
05/24/23 • 49 min
This week in the Yoniverse, we are bringing a conversation to light that we have been seeing lately in the Divine Feminine spirituality spaces in social media - a conversation which seems, quite frankly, anti-Trans and Transphobic. To add additional depth, color and relevance to the conversation, we have Lady Veronika Mirage on the show with us. Veronika is a Transgender adult content creator, as well as a top phone sex actress on NiteFlirt. Additionally, Veronika is an accredited Hypnotherapist and Past Life Regression Therapist. Finally, Veronika is the Leading Lady of the House of Mirage, a safe space for Trans Women in all stages of their transition.
Today we dive into...
- Understanding more about Veronika, her life and journey to where she is today;
- The conversations we started seeing sprout up predominantly on Instagram around taking a stand against using pronouns, and standing with “truth”, which these individuals define as the biology you are born with;
- The rhetoric around Trans people having a condition of psychosis that needs treatment feeling very similar to the long history of societal structures using hysteria and psychosis to undermine, sterilize and lock up women;
- How Veronika feels about the state of things for Trans people in this U.S.;
- The parallels between what we’re hearing here and the agenda of trans-exclusionary radical feminists (TERFs);
- Our clear and unequivocal position at TFY and SlutSisters :: Transgender woman are and forever will be welcome at our table. We stand for expansion, inclusivity and kindness.

Transentience Rising
The Flaming Yoni
01/18/23 • 47 min
Loves, if you’d had the opportunity to be in the “studio” with us as we recorded this week’s episode, you would realize how deeply touched and turned on we were by this guest. It is our sincere pleasure to introduce the Yoniverse to Ley David Elliette Cray, PhD (she/they). Ley is an author, board-certified sexologist, and LGBTQIA+ and BDSM educator, coach, and consultant. She is the founder of Transentience Coaching, a podcaster on the MŌN app, and LGBTQIA+ Curriculum Coordinator for the Sexual Health Alliance. She is currently based out of Las Cruces, New Mexico, where she watches a lot of horror movies with her cats.
In this episode of The Flaming Yoni:
- Ley’s origin story, and her grand rising into her authentic self in more recent years.
- Blazing trails as the first “out” transgender woman to receive tenure at a Texas church-based university.
- In her coaching business, Ley explains how she is not afraid to show up in her authenticity, which provides a more trusting and expansive container for her clients to transform within.
- Ley describes how, for much of her life when she was trying to live from the societally expected “masculine”, it felt like she was walking around with her shoes on the wrong feet with shards of glass in them.
- Challenging all of us to look at transgender issues from a whole person perspective, rather than a pronouns and genitals perspective.
- We go deep...talking existential crisis associated with capitalism, and the resulting alienation we feel from ourselves.
- Inkless tattoos as a form of kink...or...rather, is it an extension of a mindfulness practice?

Sexual shame is something that runs deep in our society, and STIs are no exception. Today, Tricia Wise (aka Safe Slut) enlightens the show with her wisdom, raw honesty, and shares the current work she’s doing around STI destigmatization. Reiki master, content creator, and sexual health advocate, she has a plethora of experiences. After she was diagnosed with genital herpes in November 2019, Tricia created her business and Instagram to help end shaming towards those with STIs, promote safer sex practices and sex positivity, and also help end stigma surrounding slut-shaming. Today, she and Áine unpack the shame culture around STIs, why she’s taking back the term slut, and even touch on navigating trauma and triggers from past lives.
In this episode of Sexualchemy:
- How Tricia reclaimed the label slut for self-empowerment from a young age
- Why herpes is so stigmatized despite being so common
- Hope and encouragement for those dealing with STI shame
- Why women are afraid to speak up about sexual assault

Dear ones - we are SO excited to bring a two-part series to you that we have been wanting to discuss with the TFY community since before TFY had a community! Our guest this week (and next!) is the amazing Taylor Khoury - Human Design reader and expert extraordinaire. You may be asking...”what is Human Design?” Well loves, in this first episode on the topic, Taylor goes deep into the origins and explanation of HD, and we hope you will be as fascinated by it as we are...
In this episode of The Flaming Yoni:
- Before we dive deep into HD, we wanted to bring attention to a fundraiser that we are organizing for the month of April for the Black Mamas Matter Alliance, a Black women-led cross-sectoral alliance that centers Black mamas and birthing people to advocate, drive research, build power, and shift culture for Black maternal health, rights, and justice. This fundraiser was inspired by our conversation with Lex of Talk Sex With Lex, and we would be so grateful for anything you can give. If this link doesn’t work for you, you can find it on either of our Instagram profiles.
- How we got introduced to Taylor, and how Taylor got introduced to HD.
- So - what is Human Design anyway? Hear Taylor describe it as the melding of ancient wisdom and modern science combined to give you the deepest understanding of yourself, and your relationship to the world.
- We walk through all 5 Energy Types represented in the world, as well as an understanding of Authority (hint: your inner compass, the home of your decisions, and how you interact with the world) and Profile (your personality, how you connect with others, and how others perceive you).
- Next week - join us back here to hear more about how HD interacts with sexuality and embodiment (hint :: it’s everything!) to go a layer deeper!
- To get a glimpse into your own HD chart, arm yourself with your birth date, exact birth time, and location and head to My Human Design! AND, Taylor was gracious enough to create this amazing resource sheet just for TFY listeners - it’s full of the good stuff!

Yoni Pleasure 101
The Flaming Yoni
03/29/23 • 57 min
Ok loves...it’s pussy talk time. We are called The Flaming Yoni, after all, and there is nothing we love paying homage to more than our yonis. So sit back, grab a cup of whatever will enhance your pleasure as you listen, and step into OUR Yoniverses with us...
In this episode of The Flaming Yoni:
- Mindful masturbation, and how we both partook in it prior to recording this episode - our intentions, our methods and implements, and our experiences.
- Breaking down the parts of the vulva - from labia, clitoris, the vaginal canal and the cervix - knowledge is power and there is nothing more worthy of studying than the yoni!
- The “orgasm gap” - it’s real, y’all, and it disproportionately impacts yoni-bearers. We discuss why we believe this is, and also the myriad types of orgasms.
- How essential foreplay is to warming up a yoni - it takes set, setting and warming up nice and slow in order to arouse and help her swell and open optimally.
- We address the misconceptions and unknowns about squirting v. creaming - what is each, what are they made up of, how common is this for vulva owners?
- Last, but definitely not least, eating pussy like it is your last meal - if you don’t eat it, you need not apply.
**Apologies that Áine's audio was a little janky this episode--we have some new equipment that will give our audio an upgrade very soon!

SlutStyles
The Flaming Yoni
03/08/23 • 42 min
We’re going deep again, and personal. As an extension of a conversation that we were having casually the other night, we decided to address some changes for each of us in our own Slut-styles, as we are embarking on building the SlutSisterhood. We always share that our definition of SLUT is Sexually Liberated, Unshamed and Transformed, and that all femme-identifying folx are welcome at the never-ending table. But what does that mean...for each of us, and collectively?
In this episode of The Flaming Yoni:
- Acknowledging that pretty significant changes have taken place for us since meeting, and that along with those changes there is a bit of a sadness;
- Reiterating the expansive definition of SLUT for our listeners - there is no one-size fits all and sluthood looks different for all individuals;
- How society has cast aside and shamed sluts;
- Áine walks us through her journey to get to know herself as a solo individual, and how she had to come to terms with the fact that she didn’t know what her own desires were;
- How tendencies toward codependency and people-pleasing can impact our ability to know our “yes’s” and “no’s”;
- How energetics work for each of us - whether energy leads, or follows intention;
- Scarlet describes her hedonistic, insatiable style of play, but how it has changed in really nuanced ways in recent years; and
- How kink fits into both of our styles; and
- A message for our Trans Sisters.
