05/11/22 • 38 min

The Flaming Yoni

Sexual shame is something that runs deep in our society, and STIs are no exception. Today, Tricia Wise (aka Safe Slut) enlightens the show with her wisdom, raw honesty, and shares the current work she’s doing around STI destigmatization. Reiki master, content creator, and sexual health advocate, she has a plethora of experiences. After she was diagnosed with genital herpes in November 2019, Tricia created her business and Instagram to help end shaming towards those with STIs, promote safer sex practices and sex positivity, and also help end stigma surrounding slut-shaming. Today, she and Áine unpack the shame culture around STIs, why she’s taking back the term slut, and even touch on navigating trauma and triggers from past lives.

In this episode of Sexualchemy:

  • How Tricia reclaimed the label slut for self-empowerment from a young age
  • Why herpes is so stigmatized despite being so common
  • Hope and encouragement for those dealing with STI shame
  • Why women are afraid to speak up about sexual assault
  • Balancing online anonymity with speaking and living your truth
