In this episode of The Consistency Corner Podcast, I'm joined by the founder of FemForce, Stacey Poterson! Forging her own path in the photo industry and doing what no photographer has done before, Stacey has created a non traditional approach to getting fresh new photos for social media every month. She re-designed her photography business to fit family life & motherhood and started FemForce - a monthly photoshoot subscription service for female entrepreneurs to help them get social media content. Ready to dive in?
Here's a sneak peek at what we discussed in this episode:

  • The emotional turning point that came when Stacey missed her son's baseball game while away shooting a wedding.
  • How FemForce fills the need for accessible branding photos by offering a subscription model for professional brand photos, filling the gap between infrequent expensive shoots and casual iPhone selfies.
  • Stacey's "SHTT" method for natural and flattering poses that will help you look effortless in front of the camera.
  • Overcoming camera shyness and and embracing discomfort to build confidence in front of the camera.
  • The importance of investing in professional photography to effectively communicate brand essence, boost brand recognition, and engage the audience.

Welcome back to The Consistency Corner Podcast - and this week I have a special guest for you! I sat down with the incredible Jordan Schanda King to talk all about the importance of your big picture vision when it comes to 90 day planning - this is one you're going to want to take notes as you listen!
Before we jump in, let me tell you a bit about Jordan. Jordan is a serial entrepreneur and expert on all things scaling and operations. Since first diving into entrepreneurship a decade ago, she has published a book, founded multiple businesses, launched a top 100 podcast, successfully sold a brand, and built a multiple-six-figure agency in less than a year. Jordan’s company, Easy Scaling, combines strategic business consulting with done-for-you execution from a team of more than a dozen experts. Together they help female coaches and online service providers scale without burning out so that they can build a sustainable business that they love. I told you this was going to be good!
In this episode we chat about:

  • The importance of big picture visioning or planning and why we need to make time for it, especially when we're starting a new business (otherwise we won't know what to focus on and what to work on)
  • Why Jordan focuses on three foundational elements: systems, client experience and onboarding and why they are so essential for every business owner to focus on.
  • How do you delegate and outsource right and how both of those can help us as business owners be more efficient and effective.
  • The best way to work out what you should delegate and outsource is to track your time and keeping tabs on what you're actually doing in a week - and then assess it and make decisions from there.

MENTIONED IN THE EPISODE:
90 Day Planning Process Document as mentioned
Loom video walkthrough showing how to use it

In this candid and insightful episode, my friend, Heather and I discuss the art of annual planning, and share how Post-It Notes have revolutionized how we strategize and navigate the year ahead! Join us as we delve into the necessity of structure, discipline, and understanding individual energy flows in achieving ambitious goals. From managing calendars to embracing small steps toward strategic milestones, this episode offers invaluable guidance for anyone seeking a roadmap to success while navigating the realities of entrepreneurship and planning for the long haul.
Here's a peek into what we discuss:

  • The appeal of using Post-It notes for planning due to their flexibility. The method allows for easy adjustments, fostering a mindset that focuses on solutions rather than rigid plans.
  • How planning, even when uncertain about all the steps, triggers creative thinking.
  • The necessity of carving out time for visioning and planning, not just focusing on client work or administrative tasks, as these can consume time without necessarily propelling the business forward.
  • Calendar management, aligning tasks with varying energy levels to prevent burnout and maximize productivity.
  • The importance of celebrating small wins, embracing the journey, and prioritizing consistent progress rather than perfection.

My girl Oprah had a sign on her dressing room door that says "You are responsible for the energy you bring into this space". If we are responsible for our own energy, we have to let go of the mom guilt we often feel about doing things that give us energy.
You know self care is not selfish, but have you been intentional about doing things that give you energy? Or setting boundaries around the things that drain you to protect your energy?
Listen to this week's Mindset Monday episode for tips on creating more energy, protecting your energy and letting go of the guilt.

Bonus Episode Alert! Friday episodes might become a regular thing, but for now I wanted to drop this as a bonus to talk about how I've been feeling burnt out and bored with social media recently.
If you've felt the boredom or burnout too, listen in for what I'm trying to bring back the energy:
**Create More Than You Consume:** This does not necessarily mean creating more social media content, but could involve focusing on developing more engaging long-form content like podcasts, emails, or blog posts. This approach allows Ruthie to serve her audience without being entirely dependent on social media algorithms.
**Use Social Media for Genuine Connection:** Ruthie intends to use social media to interact with people she admires and enjoys. She plans to do this by sending direct messages to friends or people who create content that she appreciates, sparking conversations rather than promoting her own products or services.
**Lean into Long Form Content:** Long-form content (like podcasts, blogs, or videos) can be repurposed over time. It also provides a more sustainable content strategy that doesn't rely solely on social media.
**Take Time Away from Screens:** Ruthie recommends taking breaks from digital devices to stimulate the brain differently. This could involve going outside, taking walks, or reading physical books.
**Audit Who You're Following:** Ruthie suggests an audit of who you follow on social media, and unfollowing those whose content doesn't serve you, bring you joy, or provide value. This action allows the content that truly matters to take center stage in your feed.
Finally, Ruthie reminds you that while social media is a valuable tool for marketing, it isn't the only one. Other strategies like messaging, branding, networking, email marketing, and website navigation can also play vital roles in a business's marketing plan.
- Ruthie also mentions her new offer, the "Done for You Nine Grid", a tool designed to help businesses maintain their social media presence without feeling overwhelmed. You can literally set it and forget it and stop worrying about grid content for Instagram.
Love these types of Bonus episodes! Send me a DM on Instagram and let me know, and share what we should talk about next week!
