Orlagh Reid: anxious attachment, deposits of intimacy and unburdening yourself
11/21/22 • 72 min
Psychotherapist, Orlagh Reid, joins me to discuss how therapy helped her cope with depression and suicidal thoughts.
BIO: Orlagh Reid is an accredited Psychotherapist, Addiction Counsellor and Relationships Therapist who specialises in clinical sexology, addiction recovery and wellbeing, sexual recovery, and sex and intimacy. She is trained in Gottman Method couples therapy and works 100% online from her practice in country Kildare in Ireland. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, Orlagh studied for 4 years in Complementary Health Therapy.
Her personal experience of depression, anxiety and debilitating panic attacks brought her to a therapists door in her mid 20's where her therapist joined her on a slow descent into depression and out the other side 'together'. She now sits in that therapist chair holding that space and acceptance for others.
My passion is in recent years understanding intimacy and attachment.
I work almost 70% with people in sexual recovery and with sex, intimacy and relationship issues (i.e pornography addiction.)
