Why hello super cool humans! We are Kat and Val and we heartily welcome you to our podcast. Each week we will focus on a specific topic and dive into our 3 favorite questions.

  1. What is bringing you pleasure?
  2. What are you learning?
  3. What is moving around for you?

We are lovingly referring to this episode as our origin episode. You'll hear each of us share a lot more about who were are and how we got here. Super relatable shit like how we met in Bible College, were both Pastors in a conservative evangelical pentecostal denomination, and how we each deconstructed from that worldview.
We learn about Val's passion for therapy, cracking the perfect joke while playing pickleball, and her long term marriage to a talented, hilarious, brazilian businessman named Rafick. Val (she/her) is deeply wise, warm and candid as she shares about their journey to make peace with childlessness.
We also learn about Kat's choice to end a long term marriage to the father of her two kids, then discovering she is in fact, gay as hell. Kat (she/they) credits a tremendous amount of personal transformation to the body liberation movement and her work as a fat artist.

  • Reminiscing about bible college and evangelical culture (4:10)
  • Exploring our evolutions, throughout of 26 year friendship (6:53)
  • Val shares about her life and who she is today (8:37)
  • Kat shares about her life and who they are today (13:17)
  • Closing thoughts on pleasure, growth, evolutions, and gratitudes (27:00)

Kat and Val’s season finale! Obnoxiously committed to practicing what they preach, our co hosts get even more vulnerable as they discuss and model the practices of centering ourselves in our interpersonal relationships. How doing so can feel tender and unpleasant, and how to allow room for unexpected emotions when they arise. Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey.
