Ep 30: Worthy of Pausing
06/16/23 • 16 min
1 Listener
This episode is bitter-sweet, and also nothing short of a milestone. This publication today marks 54 episodes of the podcast. WOW!! In just over 9 months I have produced 24 minisodes and 30 full episodes. Phew!
Dear Listener, sincerely this has been one of the absolute most fun things I've ever done. It was a crazy, impulsive decision last September that quickly turned into an obsession, and I'm so proud of the quality and content of every episode. And all along the way, you have been there. The downloads each week give me life and I feel your love in the comments and the way you come back week after week for more.
So, with summer at our door and the kids out of school, this episode brings with it the official close of Season 1. Just as I started the podcast with Ep: 1 Worthy of Quitting, I'm wrapping this season with a poetic nod to that life-changing start with the final Ep: 30 Worthy of Pausing.
And that is what this will be, a pause, to formulate season 2, to enjoy time with the family, and maybe get up to a few other things that I talk about in today's episode. So without delay, hop in and give a quick listen to what I've got brewing this summer. To give a hint it might include morning pages, acting like my kids, and inviting a Marie Kondo-style purge in the dead spaces of our house.
This isn't goodbye but rather see you soon. And stay tuned here for updates on what's to come. Now get out there and enjoy your summer, and I'll see you back on the airwaves in no time! XOXO

Ep 29: How to Travel with Kids and Actually Enjoy It
Summer is here!
Are you planning to vacation or travel with the kids? It always sounds like the best idea ever until you’re out there not having the time you envisioned. The dream of travel, and the reality of travel, can be two very different things.
On today’s episode, I’m joined by travel agent, and travel blogger Brigitte Metzger Harding from Sweaty Traveling Mom to talk about the dream vs. the reality of traveling with kids. Before you pack your bags, listen to this episode for a checklist of expectations to add to your packing list.
Thank you for joining me, now let’s get started.

Ep 31: Midlife Magic: Forget About Having It All, Let's Do One Better
Is it possible to have a "midlife" without the crisis?
The answer is YES!
The question then is, HOW?
On today's episode, I'm joined by Dr. Lisa Petty, a long-time nutrition educator, coach, and reiki practitioner, who is now known as the Midlife Alchemist. Dr. Lisa took her own experience walking through the early years of midlife and now centers her practice on the well-being of women during this often confusing and disorienting time of life.
Our wisdom, it turns out, comes from more than just our minds. Our bodies have a lot to say if we're willing to listen. Dr. Lisa talked to us today about what questions to ask and what we might be listening for when we get quiet enough to hear the answers.
ABOUT DR. LISA:
Dr. Lisa Petty started her career as a holistic nutritionist and health researcher, and quickly became recognized as a speaker, journalist, award-winning author and media health expert. After several years coaching women who struggled to follow through on their health goals, Lisa earned a PhD for her research on how midlife women experience self-care in the face of the social pressures on them to be perfect in every facet of their lives. Her new book “Forget About Having It All: The Midlife Woman’s Guide to Creating the Life you Want” is a combination of research findings and Lisa’s own story of midlife self-discovery. Through a combination of research and channeled wisdom, Lisa now helps midlife women navigate midlife and create the life they really want.
Membership and Tools:
I've just launched a $7/mo Midlife Magic membership that's a great first step to get the tools (planners, lessons, mini-courses, training, meditations, community) to help women empower themselves
