You're Up First - Ep 30: Worthy of Pausing
play

06/16/23 • 16 min

This episode is bitter-sweet, and also nothing short of a milestone. This publication today marks 54 episodes of the podcast. WOW!! In just over 9 months I have produced 24 minisodes and 30 full episodes. Phew!
Dear Listener, sincerely this has been one of the absolute most fun things I've ever done. It was a crazy, impulsive decision last September that quickly turned into an obsession, and I'm so proud of the quality and content of every episode. And all along the way, you have been there. The downloads each week give me life and I feel your love in the comments and the way you come back week after week for more.

So, with summer at our door and the kids out of school, this episode brings with it the official close of Season 1. Just as I started the podcast with Ep: 1 Worthy of Quitting, I'm wrapping this season with a poetic nod to that life-changing start with the final Ep: 30 Worthy of Pausing.

And that is what this will be, a pause, to formulate season 2, to enjoy time with the family, and maybe get up to a few other things that I talk about in today's episode. So without delay, hop in and give a quick listen to what I've got brewing this summer. To give a hint it might include morning pages, acting like my kids, and inviting a Marie Kondo-style purge in the dead spaces of our house.

This isn't goodbye but rather see you soon. And stay tuned here for updates on what's to come. Now get out there and enjoy your summer, and I'll see you back on the airwaves in no time! XOXO

You're Up First - Ep 23: When to Quit Your Job and How To Do It
play

04/27/23 • 39 min

Grab your headphones if kiddos are around!
Do you ever think about leaving your job?

Actually quitting a job is straight forward, give a two week notice and you’re done. But what if you’re quitting a career, or leaving a long standing position?
When the stakes are higher, there is a whole lot more that goes into that decision, and knowing when, why and how it’s the right time for you to take the leap, is a really important place to be.
On today’s episode I invite back Sarah Warman The Purpose Provocateur to talk about when to know it’s time to quit your job or pivot in your career. And when it’s time to go, how do we do it?

If you’re feeling over-ambitious, burned out, and resentful, there’s a chance you’re suffering from perfectionism. It’s not about how you dress or how tidy you keep the house, this is about full-spectrum control that attracts all sorts of things you don’t want.

On today's episode, I'm joined by Intuitive Business Coach, Briana Wyatt, to talk about how operating from fear and control actually contracts our life, and how trust and surrender create expansion into places we can’t begin to imagine.
It’s all about quiet strength and knowing your value - from there abundance, ease and a beautiful, sacred life happen almost without effort. The effort lies in doing the work to get there.

I’m really excited to share this heart-opening and inspiring episode with you.

See you inside....
Briana Wyatt, MBA is a Coach, Professor and Priestess. Using the framework of head, heart, and habit, she helps ambitious women heal perfectionism, people-pleasing, and self-doubt so they can flourish as professionals + partners + parents! Beyond working with clients, you'll find her in the University classroom and under the stars howling at the moon. She integrates the soulful and strategic, the Divine masculine and the Divine feminine, the grief and joy, the challenge and triumph because of course, life is this AND that!

You're Up First - Minisode: Bootstrapping Out of the Resistance
play

03/05/23 • 10 min

Sometimes we just feel crappy, for days. It feels impossible to crack the spell, or pull ourselves out of the emotional tail-spin. In an effort to do so this week, I went back to some poems I wrote and found one called The Resistance that summed up exactly what I was going through. Today, I'm talking about that process and then reading the poem in a spoken word type of healing.
Hop in, let's bootstrap out of this together.

You're Up First - Ep 13: Guidelines For Healing In The Real World
play

02/16/23 • 26 min

Welcome to February's Cupid Series!
Oh how nice it would be to retreat to a quiet and secluded place to do our hardest and most important work of emotional and mental healing. But the reality is that most of us have to go on about our lives, engaging and being triggered by the real world and the relationships we have at home, at work and as we move about the world.
There is a lot of mainstream talk about doing this kind of work, but very few talk about how we relate differently to just about everything in the process. It can get messy and a little unsettling to change, so today I want to talk about tools to help navigate this powerful and brave work of coming home to yourself.
And if you have a quick minute please subscribe to the podcast and share your favorite episode with a friend. It would mean the world to me!

Do you ever try something new and just feel like a total faker? A wannabe? An outsider that somehow slipped in through the side door and managed to make it all the way to the stage without anyone noticing?
Here's the crazy thing, everyone starts there. Everyone, at some point, is new at what they do. The difference between them and the rest of us is that they didn't let it get the best of them. They didn't care. They just faked it until they made it, and then they were IT! Let's discuss.

If you’re in the mood for a gentle unfolding of a really beautiful conversation about the Enneagram, you’ve come to the right place.
