“Effective planning turns dreams into reality as we navigate life's challenges, reflect on lessons learned, and take deliberate steps towards our goals.”

Can you believe we're already halfway through 2023? Time flies when you're having fun!

Today, we talk about how to plan for a brilliant next six months. To help you make it as productive as you want it to be.

Planning quarterly allows you to adapt to the ever-changing world and take deliberate steps towards your dreams.

In this episode, I talk about how to do that - and share and explain 10 tips for effective planning:

  1. Reflect on the past six months: Take time to evaluate what worked and what didn't.
  2. Learn from challenges: Identify the main obstacles faced and develop strategies to overcome them in the future.
  3. Celebrate achievements: Recognize your key accomplishments in areas such as work, health, relationships, and personal growth.
  4. Clarify your dreams and goals: Clearly define your top three dreams or goals for the year and the upcoming quarter.
  5. Understand your "why": Write a document explaining why these dreams and goals are important to you, as a reminder during challenging times.
  6. Keep your dreams and goals visible: Display your top three dreams and goals in places you'll see them every day, like your phone, bedroom, or bathroom mirror.
  7. Establish a morning ritual: Create a routine that supports your dream life and helps you start each day positively.
  8. Evaluate your habits: Identify habits that hinder your progress and consider adding new ones that align with your dreams and goals.
  9. Prioritize health and well-being: Take care of your physical and mental health by exercising, eating well, staying hydrated, and getting enough sleep.
  10. Take consistent action: Work on your dreams and goals every day, scheduling dedicated time in your calendar and staying committed to your progress.

Remember, effective planning, consistent action, and support from like-minded individuals can lead you closer to living your dream life.

As you may know, I’m a little obsessed - in a healthy way - to work on my daily habits.

I know for sure that having the right daily habits in place is the foundation for me to achieve my dreams and goals. That’s where the magic is.

"We are what we do daily."

You probably also know that I just love reading & learning so I keep growing - and I LOVE reading about anything to do with habits.

Today’s podcast guest is Dr Rebecca Ray, author of Small Habits for a BIG Life - which is a title that makes my heart sing!

The book is about releasing the self-sabotaging behaviour that holds us back. One habit at a time.

In my life experience, I know that change is not about grand gestures or sweeping statements.

“It’s about chipping away daily - a bit at a time - at the habits that hold us back.”

Dr Rebecca Ray knows about the power of small habits to make big changes. By introducing small changes into her own life, she transformed her career as a clinical psychologist to become one of the most effective communicators on matters of the mind.

...and Dr Rebecca has helped many people do the same.

In today’s super inspiring chat - Dr Rebecca breaks down the process for us all, and explains how we can override the part of the brain that seeks pleasure and comfort (...think ice cream and wine!) and activate the parts that tolerate some discomfort for the sake of long-term achievement (...an hour of study instead of an hour of TV).
