Wishing You Wellness

My first double header...double feature...I have no idea what you’d call it in podcast land, but today we are covering TWO topics! Both of which are insanely close to my heart, btw. First we are going to chat about panic attacks: the good, the bad, and the unstoppable. I recall an ER trip in Colorado Springs after my first major anxiety attack and share tricks I’ve found to prevent and lessen panic attacks in my life. I also dive into the important of choosing high vibrational people to surround yourself with. It’s absolutely true what they say: you start to resemble those you spend the most of your time with. You pick up on cues, habits, even dialect from the people you spend your time with. So picking these people out of free will and not desperation or a need to fill the void...that’s the key! Realizing that you are worthy of friends that feel two-sided and healthy. We dive into how you can love people without trying to fix them and how to spot emotional dumping. Thank you guys so much for tuning in and streaming my show on the way to work, at the gym, or whenever you’re listening. I feel so lucky to be apart of your daily routine. Thanks a million for being apart of the tiny but growing WYW family. ♡ I love you guys so much & your support means the entire world. If you loved this episode, give it a share on social media or considering leaving a review on Spotify or Apple to help my pod grow. Also, if you have an idea for an episode or if there is something you'd love to hear me speak on, send it on over to me at [email protected] - I can't wait to hear from you! ♡ Welcome to the very first episode of ‘Wishing You Wellness’! I am over the moon to dive into today’s topic and just really get this ball rolling. So whatever you’re doing...take a moment to breathe in, breathe out, and get comfortable while we explore some habits I added to my daily routine that changed the direction of my life. My resolution way back when 2021 began was to read way more books. It didn’t necessarily matter what type of books I read, because I just wanted myself to step away from the tv/laptop/phone screen and take some time to entertain and/or education myself without the help of a device. Seriously guys...try finding information about something you need without Google every once in awhile. Difficult? Very. But you’ll be the only one who knows what to do if Google ever vanishes and we can no longer look up how to change our air filter or...you know...how to make a podcast....totally not speaking from experience here. One of the first books I finished during my year dedicating to paper back books was ‘Atomic Habits’ by James Clear. The book had a dozen tremendously insightful takeaways but possibly the most valuable for me, was this....if we focus on just eliminating all of our bad habits, it can feel exhausting and hopeless. Instead of expecting ourselves to stop watching youtube until 3 am and eating cold pizza every other morning for breakfast, this method encourages us to first introduce some new, healthy habits to replace the old ones. Because when you have implemented the habit of reading before bed and getting 8 hours of sleep, you won’t be watching youtube at 3 am anymore, because you’ll be providing your body with amazing rest and recuperation. When you vow to enjoy more healthy food, you restore the balance. You can still eat that cold pizza but now you are practicing nutritional balance by alternating healthy, nutrient filled foods with the guilty pleasures. The message is clear. Implementing tiny, micro habits in our daily life can generate long-lasting side effects such as happiness, motivation, and a desire to build upon the pre-existing good habits instead of developing more bad ones. Today we are going to explore the 5 habits that helped me completely re-route and get on my ACTUAL life path. Thank you for being here from day one. Here’s the link to a super affordable habit tracking planner that I use to make sure I stay on track each day and the book I mentioned ‘Atomic Habits’...(and some other wellness favorites of mine): https://www.amazon.com/ideas/amzn1.account.AFR4HWIHSOVYAN5E77D4NLECMDWQ/P0BVXVO2P8SE?ref=idea_share ♡ I love you guys so much & your support means the entire world. *TRIGGER WARNING: ADDICTION*

I’ve had a few requests for this episode, so it felt like time. My recovery journey has become the most important aspect of my life over the past 2 years and in today’s episode, I dive deep into my battle with Xanax addiction. This is probably the most of my heart I’ve poured into an episode so far. It’s not easy being vulnerable in moments like this, but I think that’s the point. It feels like my responsibility to push past feelings of uncertainty or discomfort and share my story anyway, because I think that the right person hearing my story could inspire them and help them along theirs. One of the biggest flaws with social media is the lack of vulnerability. A friend once told me that when she clicked on my Instagram page, my life looked perfect. Truthfully, that comment alone was a big force in why this episode felt important to record. It’s so easy to look at someone else’s life and think they’ve got it all figured out. But we only see the highlight reel. I’m guilty of it. I mostly post very highlight moments of my life. So welcome to something different from a highlight reel. Welcome to my...deleted scenes. My raw/source footage. My unedited story. Additional resources can be found at: https://www.samhsa.gov/find-help/national-helpline I love you guys so much & your support means the entire world.
