We Get to Know photographer, recipe developer and creative content creator Erin Jensen from The Wooden Skillet.

We were thrilled to chat with Erin, the photographer, food stylist, recipe developer and content creator behind The Wooden Skillet. After practicing law for 7 years, Erin was recently able to leave her 9-5 job in order to blog full-time. This is a testament to the success of her website and her passion for healthy and delicious food. Before blogging she suffered with gut troubles for years and eventually stumbled upon Whole30. Like many of us, she quickly learned how much better she could feel and has embarked on a truly life-changing journey towards improved health. Her website is a fantastic resource, offering approachable and delicious recipes, most of which are Whole30-compliant, diary-free, vegan, or paleo.

In this episode, we dig into her huge decision of leaving her legal career behind to follow her passion full-time. She tells us about her love of cold brew and why it's a great option for people who have acid stomach issues. Plus, she gets real about the struggle of balancing motherhood and work. Listen in and enjoy Erin's story.

We Get to Know writer and entrepreneur Courtney Adamo.

We were thrilled to be chatting with Courtney on the podcast today. At first glance it's safe to say we all gush a little over the life Courtney has cultivated for her family in Byron Bay, Australia. It's the picture many of us would all paint for our lives if the stars aligned, but her life is no accident, along with her husband, they have been thoughtful to make choices and live the life that suits them best. I'm just happy we get to follow along.

Courtney is the co-founder behind the successful international lifestyle website Babyccino. It's a website offering modern moms a curated place to find all the best online boutiques in one place with loads of great blog content as well. Courtney writes about her life and family travels on her blog SomewhereSlower.com. Additionally, she has co-authored the book 9-Months: A Month to Month Guide to Pregnancy for the Family to Share and has a large and ever increasing following on Instagram. Most importantly, Courtney is the wife to Michael and the mother of their 5 beautiful children. She's on a constant pursuit of truth and inspires us to live a simpler more profound life.

In this episode she tells the story of living in London for 12 years where she welcomed 4 of her 5 children but longed for a slower paced life and something different. After a few solid nudges to Michael, they decided to take a gap year traveling the globe. She tells how this ultimately lead to their permanent relocation to Byron Bay, Australia that not only allows for that slower paced life but also gives them the beach access to live out their new family passion, surfing. As passionate as Courtney is about experiencing the amazing things this world has to offer, she is more interested in slowing down her and her family's days, enjoying their time together, being more present, listening, really listening, to each other, and emerging with a happiness and fulfillment that will hopefully influence the rest of their lives. Listen in and enjoy!

We Get to Know... Myquillyn Smith "the Nester" - Author of Cozy Minimalist Home.

It was an absolute joy talking with Myquillyn Smith. She’s the woman behind the popular design blog The Nester. For the past ten years, she (the ‘Nester’ as her fans know her) has been encouraging women to embrace their home—imperfections and all. Her motto is: ‘It doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. She’s a published author of The Nesting Place, a design book that helps readers accept and find beauty in imperfection, and the freedom to take risks to create the home they’ve always wanted. She’s just released her second book: Cozy Minimalist Home. In it, she explains how it isn’t about going without or achieving a new modern style. Instead, she helps the reader achieve the style they love with the fewest possible items.

Myquillyn is down to earth and engaging. In this interview, she talks about the fixer-upper she lives in on 12 acres with her husband Chad their three teenage boys, two cats, a dog and a rooster. Her home is beautifully and simply decorated and has been featured in Better Homes & Gardens, Cottages & Bungalows and Ladies’ Home Journal. Myquillyn has a wonderful ability to offer practicle and ‘game-changing’ design advice and strategies for all of us looking to minimize and create rooms that inspire.
