We Get to Know

We Get to Know photographer, recipe developer and creative content creator Erin Jensen from The Wooden Skillet.

We were thrilled to chat with Erin, the photographer, food stylist, recipe developer and content creator behind The Wooden Skillet. After practicing law for 7 years, Erin was recently able to leave her 9-5 job in order to blog full-time. This is a testament to the success of her website and her passion for healthy and delicious food. Before blogging she suffered with gut troubles for years and eventually stumbled upon Whole30. Like many of us, she quickly learned how much better she could feel and has embarked on a truly life-changing journey towards improved health. Her website is a fantastic resource, offering approachable and delicious recipes, most of which are Whole30-compliant, diary-free, vegan, or paleo.

In this episode, we dig into her huge decision of leaving her legal career behind to follow her passion full-time. She tells us about her love of cold brew and why it's a great option for people who have acid stomach issues. Plus, she gets real about the struggle of balancing motherhood and work. Listen in and enjoy Erin's story.

Anissa Zajac: HOUSE SEVEN design + build - Modern Rustic Farmhouse Interior Styling & Design, Remodel Home and Small Business

We Get to Know interior stylist and designer Anissa Zajac of HOUSE SEVEN design + build.

We were thrilled to chat with Anissa, the woman behind home design firm and blog HOUSE SEVEN design + build. Anissa has always had a love for all things design. From a young age on any given day you could find her spending hours decorating her dollhouse with homemade curtains and wallpaper or scouring antique shops with her mother.

HOUSE SEVEN design + build is an interior styling and residential remodeling company that focuses on creating functional and beautiful spaces utilizing a modern rustic farmhouse design. Whether it is an entire home or small business, they are decimated to working with their clients to create comfortable spaces that can be enjoyed by everyone. One look at their portfolio and like us, you'll want to hire them immediately.

On this episode we discuss how they got started in their business and how following the purchase of her and her husband Brian's seventh home, she began a little blog about home design and DIY’s that quickly gained a following. Eventually, they took a leap of faith and turned it into a successful design and remodeling business. We were completely inspired by their story. They are gutsy and ambitious and an absolute motivation to get out there and follow our passions. Listen in, you'll love getting to know Anissa.

We enjoyed our talk with Jenn, the food photographer and baking blogger behind Two Cups Flour. Jenn is based in Nashville, TN and a true southern girl through and through. With a great love of animals and a degree in animal science, Jenn thought she would become a veterinarian but she had a growing passion to uncover an artistic outlet for her creative side. In this episode Jenn tells the story of how she turned her creative passions into her profession and took the leap to follow her heart. She describes her great love of baking and how her photography skills gave her a leg up once she took the plunge.
