Ep 115 - Building a Passive Income Business (ft. Paige Brunton)

The Speak to Scale Podcast

Does the promise of passive income feel just too good to be true? Perhaps, you've scrolled past one too many Instagram posts of somebody living it up on the beach, telling you how they made X amount of dollars in their sleep all they were sipping mai tai's. I get it. A lot of the messaging out there makes it feel like it's too good to be true, but what if it wasn't?

In this episode, we go behind the scenes with my friend and amazing client Paige Brunton who built a HUGE entirely passive income business (from a $50,000 a year business to a $500,000 a year business) in a very short amount of time. She walks us through the entire process step by step... Starting with her journey from blogging, consulting, and “done for you projects” to her new cycle where everything is running on autopilot. She spends more time away from her computer than she spends at it and she's really living her best life. If passive income is something that has been on your vision board, but you don't know how to make that leap from “done for you” to DIY, today's episode is going to give you a step by step plan of attack to get it done and a whole lot of inspiration to see that it's actually possible.

If you loved this episode and it motivated you to add speaking to your business, please take the time to leave me some positive feedback on iTunes. I’d also love to hear about your biggest takeaway. Take a screenshot of you listening on your device, post it to your Instagram Stories and tag us @speaktoscalepodcast.

Episode takeaways you don’t want to miss:

  • You cannot start a passive income business without an email list
  • Why you need to build your audience first.. Then your product second
  • Why you need to remove yourself as the bottleneck for your business
  • Removing the pride and ego that come with running a business
  • How to effectively predict the income of your passive business
  • Why you absolutely NEED organic content

If you’ve transitioned into a role where you’re helping others achieve a desired result, you may be unsure what to call yourself. You are not alone! You may have heard the words “coach” and “consultant” used interchangeably and you’re not sure what the difference really is. Maybe you’ve shifted away from being a service provider and started sharing your expertise with others. We see this quite often when our students and speakers are growing as educators.
