The Robyn Graham Show - Success without Social - Life and Business Growth Strategies for Christian Women, Coaches and Service Providers
Living with Purpose Means Your Goals are Unique to You

Often times we look around and think, "oh, I should do what this woman is doing" or "I need to do these things too". We end up setting our goals based on everyone else's metrics of success instead of defining what success looks like to us and leaning into our own unique gifts and talents and letting those be the guide.

We find joy and satisfaction when we are aligned with our goals. Going from A to Z. The B to Y is so important. The endpoint can seem so daunting so we need to look at what's in between, the B to Y, to reach the goals.

Where we are today, and where we want to go, there is a huge chasm. If we put one foot in front of the other every day, we'll get there so much faster than trying to rush through without being aligned.

The Purpose Equation - For Finding and Living with Purpose

Robyn shared her purpose equation, Values + Visions + Passions = Purpose.

We must be aligned with our values or we will become frustrated.

This ties in with Tayna's North Star concept that she shared in "The Joy of Missing Out", your values, visions, and mission are your guiding light and principal. This helps determine your soulmate clients. This is also important with how you run your team and set your boundaries.

How to Discover Your Passions

If you are feeling lost in the day-to-day of motherhood and are struggling to identify your passions, travel back in time. Do reflection work and discover what your passions were before you began the journey of motherhood and expectations.

Dive into who you were when you were a kid. What were the activities you looked forward to?

Tayna gave the example of playing softball. Maybe you won't play softball as an adult, but what did you like about softball. Was it being outdoors, the team environment, the athleticism, moving your body? Ask yourself why and you'll start to see bread crumbs for things you are passionate about.

Another exercise to discover your passions is diving into what you wanted to be when you grew up. Remember when there were no constraints on you. Why did you want to be that? What was it about being that that made you excited?

PIE

We are all multi-passionate. Every person on the planet has more than one thing they love.

It’s important to narrow down first, niche down first, then add on and expand. You can’t be Amazon straight out of the gate. When we do this, we wear ourselves out. Choose to focus.

The cost of greatness is commitment. Commit to doing fewer things so that we can really do them well and then expand.

Powers

What are your powers?

Impact

What impact does it make?

Excitement

What is your excitement level? Being good at something doesn’t mean you should be doing it.

Living Your Faith as an Impactful Christian Entrepreneur - Money and Discernment in a Secularized World

As a Christian entrepreneur, is it right to want to make money? In this collaborative interview with Judy Weber and I, we discuss money, discernment, ambition, and much more. Is Money the Root of All Evil?

As a Christian entrepreneur, you may have been taught that money is the root of all evil. But, is that what scripture says? In actuality, it isn't money that is evil. It's the love of money that is the root of all evil.

1 Timothy 6:10 tells us that the love of money is the root of all evil. Many of us were raised with phrases such as "money doesn't grow on trees" "money is the root of all evil" "rich people are bad" and many others. As a result, many of, especially Christian entrepreneurs struggle with making money.

Judy gave the example of the Proverbs 31 woman.

Robyn added that the Proverbs 31 woman was indeed an entrepreneur and how she came from a place of love, obedience, service. If we can take that approach to make money in our businesses, come from a place of obedience and service first, we can make money in our businesses while serving as Christ called us to serve.

We often lose sight of our calling. If we have something in our hearts, that is the Holy Spirit nudging us. At the same time, someone else in the world has a need that the Holy Spirit is guiding them to seek help for.

Judy emphasized that we often say I can't, I shouldn't. These lead with I. We think we are being unGodly by saying these things, but if we are not serving who we are meant to serve, we aren't following God's calling, we are being disobedient. The key is to dream big and trust God to guide us.

How to Obliterate Shame and Live Outside the Box of Cultural Norms as an Entrepreneur

The Need to Obliterate Shame -Body Image, Sex, Shame, Love, and Faith

It isn't easy to obliterate shame when it is deep-rooted and generational. But there are steps you can take to remove the triggers, step into your faith and God-led calling, and become a vessel for God.

Obliterate Shame Around Body Image

Robyn originally met Tamra in a Clubhouse room and was impressed with Tamra's ability to freely talk about her faith. Robyn then saw a post that Tamra put on Instagram about body image and it really resonated with her.

The body image piece is cultivated by a sexism culture. What is the body for versus what is the body a vessel for? For years Tamra saw herself as nothing but a tool for the opposite sex. She felt that everything she did had to be for the pleasure of someone else. Or, that she had to fit a certain frame in order to be loved.

Tamra mentioned how at a time when the cerebral cortex is still developing, teens are exposed to magazines with beautiful, sexual images. We have to consistently blind the eyes of our children from society and the exposure of women's bodies in a sexual way.

Moving Outside the Box of Cultural Norms to Obliterate Shame

Tamra is on a mission to obliterate shame and one way she is helping women do that is through sharing fitness and nutrition. Everyone goes to body conscientious first. Its mind, body, soul, spirit, and mental health is often pushed aside. The body tends to come up first. Tamra shifted this thinking when she realized that her spirit and soul precede her body when she enters a room. Once she changed her way of thinking, her body became a vessel to steward the Holy Spirit rather than a tool for others' pleasure.

When we are trying to fit into a box of cultural norms, we use suppression and coping mechanisms to control what we can't control. Tamra used alcohol, shopping, and other addictions as coping mechanisms. It's important to look at those coping mechanisms that are preventing us from being what God has called us to be. Freedom only comes when you face what has kept you in a box for so long.

Tamra stressed that from the outside looking in life can look amazing and no one sees the internal distractions and problems. No one offers help when they don't see that help is needed. The expectations of perfectionism are overwhelming.

The roots of our generations often go deep and influence body image and overall mental health.
