While it is important to eat more plants and vegetables, it doesn’t mean you have to cut out meat and animal products entirely... it is possible to still enjoy yourself. She also talks to us about how stress and trauma have a physical impact on our bodies, and if we don’t work to reduce it, it can end up having physical manifestations in our body. 10 | Being My Own WHY In The Second Half Of Life... First Solo Episode
In this very special and first episode of it’s kind for my podcast, I am doing a solo cast. I have been putting this episode off for so long...yes, self limiting beliefs...who am I to do this? Who will listen? Can I do it? It was scary to think about talking to myself without a guest. LOL. I did it. Today, I am sharing some of my golden nuggets that we all can use today, to start being our own why and take that first step in the self recreation journey, in the second half of life.
In this episode, I talked about the turning point that made me realize that I wanted to create a podcast, and how my family helped tremendously along the way. In fact, it was my 14 (13 at the time) daughter, who was the one who started all of this. For my birthday, as a gift, she asked many of my friends to write “three things they love about my mom”...upon opening this golden box, I discovered many messages that made me realize I had a little something unique to me that I could put out into the world. There was a theme. I am an inquisitive information gatherer, known as The Flexible Neurotic. While I went back and forth over whether or not it should be a book or a podcast, it was my truly incredible friend, mentor and first guest, Angella Nazarian, who kick started my podcast journey...also, my incredible life coaches, Cari Rose and Ryan Haddon. By reaching out to family, friends and mentors, I was able to gather the information, support and expertise that I needed to start my self recreation journey. It takes a village. #womensupportingwomen.
“The Flexible Neurotic came to be when I realized my special skill is really being super neurotic, but balancing it out with just the right amount of flexibility, when I need to make a final decision...this is the definition of The Flexible Neurotic and the premise of the podcast.“
In this episode, I go on to talk about how this podcast turned into something I could have never imagined. It grew at a crazy fast rate, all thanks to my friends and even people I have met online who have resonated with this self recreation process. I also chat about the steps forward and detours in the journey. I share some of the people that I have met and connected with along the way and how they have continued to shape my self recreation process. I even cover a quick recap of some of the episodes that have really resonated with my listeners and me.
On a more personal level, you will hear how my husband and I met in high school and how it went down from there, to a 27 year relationship.
You will hear about me, why the podcast, how the podcast, how I learned to become my own why and take that first step... and what we can all do to take the next steps in our self recreation journeys, in the second half of life.
Join in the self recreation journey and listen!
