A word with Heidi Lewis-Ivey
11/09/21 • 21 min
Ladies, this is a special treat for you. In this episode, I'll be joined by award-winning author and business executive Heidi Lewis-Ivey.
Heidi is an ordained elder, a prophetic minister, and an internationally acclaimed speaker. She is the author of "Can I Rest Awhile?" and the new book, "Black Girl Cry: What Black Women Need to Know to Amplify Their Voices." She is also a co-author in Soulful Prayers Volumes 1 and 2 and Soulful Affirmations.
Heidi walks me through her career and how she focused on building solid relationships in the workplace to reach the C-suite level in the financial industry without a college degree (and why she went back to school to get one).
She tells us why she shouldn't have been so afraid when she started and how her creativity helped her reclaim her peace.
There's lots of practical advice for those on the corporate path and entrepreneurs. Enjoy!

How I made my first sale
Keeping it real, I feel like I wasted so much time trying to figure out selling and running a business when I first got started. It turns out that my first few sales where just around the corner when I got support, got focused, and took imperfect actions. Over the years, my sales process has evolved as I’ve narrowed down the most important activities for finding and signing new clients. But it wasn’t easy. There were roadblocks, mindset drama, self-confidence issues and more.
Making a conscious effort to deal with it all as it came gave me my edge and I know the same will be true for you if this is something you're struggling with in your business.
I’m going to walk you through, step by step, through my process of signing my first high-ticket clients and show you how you can do the same.
