The Autism in Black Podcast is hosted by Maria Davis-Pierre, LMHC, and focuses on all things autism and the black parent experience. Our goal is to educate, support, and empower black parents to advocate not only for their children but for themselves as well.
Today we are joined by Chaute Thompson who is a licensed mental health counselor. She is the owner of Inspiring Hope Counseling Services - a private practice that focuses on helping all families strengthen their family unit and specializes in working with families of divorce to heal in transition smoothly.
In this episode, Chaute talks about co-parenting. She gives suggestions for those navigating a co-parenting relationship: how you handle and raise a child when you are in the process of a divorce & when to start your co-parenting relationship. She also shares the best thing that parents who are not on the same page should do as well as tips for co-parenting in a blended home. Moreover, she also discusses disciplining based on your child's love language.
