The current theme in all of my work in some form, is creating self trust. As simple as it sounds, the concept runs deep and the implications of how it will not only change your relationship to alcohol, but shape your life are astounding.  If the definition of Trust is a firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something, in our case, the self. How will we ever tap into innate wisdom when alcohol completely overrides, every  factor that defines trust? The paradigm has been: full speed ahead, or fake it until you make it, but that is all changing right before our eyes.  The holistic approach to change, mind, body, soul, is the only way for a full lived life to occur. To really know thy self. The way to cultivate trust is through stopping, slowing down and tuning in. There are many ways to "start" a practice or for a new routine, changing your relationship to alcohol must be met with a mental interruption to the outer world and an invitation to ask yourself, what is really my opinion on the way things are going? What do I have control over? Do I really know what I even value in life? This episode will give you practice tools to help you on the journey of cultivating deeper self trust. The human brain makes decisions based on the past.

Part of your brain feels good about the decision of drinking.

Not drinking creates Thoughts that create Emotional Discomfort.

When you are not use Feeling the sensations of emotions, making a decision to change and embrace feeling, signals danger to your brain.
Your job is to move to the other side to prove that objection false.

Do you ever feel the pressure to announce your big life changes? In today’s episode, I’m diving into silent sobriety and silent activism—why sometimes the most powerful transformation happens when we keep it just for ourselves.

There’s so much talk about “recovering out loud,” and while that can be empowering, there’s also deep value in solitude and private commitment. When I quit drinking, I didn’t make a big deal about it. I was just making choices for me. And that shifted everything.

I also share a personal story about how Matthew proposed to me (spoiler: it was magical and completely unexpected) and how my deep connection to the Divine has shaped the way I experience life. Some things I just don’t feel the need to share—because they’re mine.

This episode will challenge you to look at your relationship with external validation and ask: What would change if you didn’t need anyone else’s approval?

Trauma literally means wound.

In this way, the trauma isn’t the even, it’s the result of the event, the unprocessed emotion.

In my opinion everyone has some trauma.

Some emotional wounds have a bigger impact on life depending on other factors of coping and resilience.

Trauma doesn’t have to come from a war or abuse, it can come from feelings of isolation, fear and being misunderstood or invalidated as a child.

Something as simple as being blamed for something you didn’t do, again and again, can leave a trauma wound, if the emotion is never validated.

We live in cycles and rhythms, although we don’t pay attention to them or understand how to really utilize our own personal rhythms as the doorway to cultivating the self trust and personal empowerment we need to change our relationship to alcohol. It’s also how we understand the art of allowing change, rather than just quitting and trying to keep the rest of our life the same. It doesn’t work that way. There is a revealing to you, on a deeper level that needs to be understood when you change your relationship to alcohol. Not simply the act of drinking, that is why it doesn’t work. That is why it isn’t over night. You aren’t just resisting changing alcohol, you are resisting the implications of what that means. It is the Fall Equinox and it is a PERFECT time to reflect on the summer. What worked, what didn’t and what you would like to be different in a future full of infinite possibilities.
