Finding Paradise: Seeing the Beauty of Life in the Blending of Two | Emily Hughes Johnson
08/18/22 • 41 min
Emily Hughes Johnson shares her touching relationship with her mother, Marilyn and the gifts her mom left her. Marilyn's determination to never let cancer win and to continue to inspire Emily’s life were her priorities. Living her best life through cancer. Setting an example of lifestyle and mindset. Pushing through limitations. Her strength and courage have always been a guiding force for Emily.
Emily's mom passed away following a courageous 17 year battle. With that Emily also had a unique challenge presented to her. It was a secret book, ”Bird of Paradise”, that Marilyn was writing throughout her diagnosis. She passed away leaving the book unfinished. She left a letter for her with one request - that Emily finish the story for her.

Stay Anchored Meditation: Releasing Anxious Thoughts
I want to welcome you, my dear friends, to the first Stay Anchored Meditation.
We can all use a moment of peace in our days. Check in with yourself today and see how you are really feeling.
You know how important it is to live with less stress. There are many things that cause anxiety. Life in general can raise anxiety levels. Add in the memories of any challenging experiences, the emotions we feel, the fears we have before our appointments and scans or how to get our lives back on track.
Mindful breathing teaches you to focus on the breath while letting go of your negative thoughts and calming your mind. It allows you to stay anchored in the present moment and build resilience to anxiety and stress. It can make a big difference in your day.
There are so many benefits to mindful breathing. Reduce anxiety and stress, lessen negative thoughts and self talk, pain relief, and improved sleep, all just by breathing. Use this practice any time you feel like you need to take back control of your thoughts.
This is a valuable tool that can be readily available to use and will create a more gratitude filled life.
Enjoy this mini meditation to get you on your way to feeling more mindful and peaceful.
