Redefining Menopause
Welcome back to the Rocking Midlife Podcast!
In this week's episode, I had the pleasure of sitting down with London-based Rachel Lankester. Rachel is not just a fabulous author, (whose book is on the recommended New York Times list for books about menopause) but a mentor and podcast host of Magnificent Midlife, an online hub celebrating and empowering women in their 40s and beyond.
During our conversation, we discuss the negative perception about menopause held by so many in western cultures. Rachel shares how this isn't the case in other cultures and explains how we should instead embrace menopause as a natural phase of life and not an “illness” needing medical intervention. She also shares her journey through menopause, along with tips she has discovered from experience and research.
It's time to alleviate the anxiety associated with menopause and ageing, and celebrate this new season of life!
Tune in now to this episode of the Rocking Midlife® Podcast and hear Rachel's insights about Redefining Menopause.

The very first episode of Season 3 of the Rocking Midlife Podcast features the lovely Katie Phillips who was one of our relationships experts at the Rocking Midlife Virtual Summit last year.
Katie is the founder of The School of Self Love. She is a Women’s Empowerment Master Coach, a Love & Dating Mentor and author of The Self Love Affair - A Woman’s Guide To A Daring & Mighty Life. She is the creator of the ‘Meet Your Soul Mate’ experience which is transforming midlife women’s lives and allowing them to receive love with ease. Her passion and expertise is inspiring mid-lifers that they can create a life they love and call in the love of their life without burn-out or guilt!
Says Katie: "Midlife dating is on the rise and I don’t feel this audience is being seen, heard and understood in the same way that the dating industry supports younger singles. Women in midlife can begin to feel invisible and I want to shine a light on what is possible for them - to re-ignite hope and give them powerful strategies for receiving love. After 8 years single parenting, I met my husband in mid-life and love to share that story to inspire listeners to what’s possible."
During our conversation, Katie shared some powerful insights about how your own self-love, self-confidence and self-beliefs can either sabotage or help you find your soulmate at midlife. She also talked about her own experience of being a single mother for 8 years, until she did the inner-work that allowed her to discover her soulmate who was literally living just around the corner.
If you have found yourself single at midlife - as a widow, a divorcee or as someone who has not yet found love - this episode will give you hope as well as some practical steps that you can start taking right away. Even if you are happily married, you'll still learn tips that can help improve your partnership.
Make sure to share this episode with all of your single girlfriends, and jump into Katie's FREE MEET YOUR SOUL MATE EXPERIENCE 5 day challenge that kicks off on Valentine's Day HERE. You'll learn how entrepreneurial single women can boost self confidence, self trust and self worth TO ATTRACT YOUR SOUL MATE by taking you on an empowering inner journey.

Rocking MidlifeTM- the Podcast
Season 1. Episode 10. Rob Robertson
I’m excited to feature a good friend of mine today – Rob Robertson. Rob is an Entrepreneur,
Speaker and Productivity Expert specialising in Emotional Fitness and Technology, and how
these can combine to create time freedom, resilience and inner trust.
His Emotional Fitness tools help grow emotional understanding, boost self-esteem and inner
trust for a more organic free flow of success, and it is fantastic hearing a man advocating
that men AND women can benefit from truly owning their emotions!
The 3 key points that Rob shares in this interview are:
1. Our emotional range is like a muscle, if we don’t use it, then it will wither away.
Emotions are our most important feedback mechanism, if we develop their full
range, not just being comfortable in the positive space. This is the core of building
true inner trust.
2. Negative emotions are our greatest gift if we understand the message and how to
integrate and heal the source of them so that they don’t keep providing return
patterns. This way we can get great growth and feedback from any negative
emotions. The Inner(Emotional Fitness) toolkit is a series of techniques to use
negative emotions for growth and healing to avoid them returning, these can be
done by yourself and are not complicated but do require a level of emotional
openness.
3. True freedom is linked to great Emotional Fitness because our emotions and
unconscious programming have a strong link creating our thoughts, actions and self-
esteem, the resilience and mental toughness to be fully present. Hence massive life-
changing events occur by shifting Emotional Fitness for much more sustainable inner
trust and resilience.

Rocking MidlifeTM- the Podcast
Season 1. Episode 10. Angela Raspass
I’m so excited to introduce today’s guest who I first met a number of years ago when she
invited me to an interview for her podcast. Angela Raspass is a Business and Life Mentor for
women in their 40's and beyond who are yearning to step into their Next Chapter – their full
potential, in business and life.
Angela is a coach with a difference. Her warmth and genuine desire to see her clients find
fulfilment in every area of their life is evident to those people who connect with her, and I
know that the wisdom she shares when explaining her model around reinvention will inspire
many to embark on their own quest for a significant Next Chapter in life.
Here are the key points around the model change that Angela shares in her interview:
• Discontent is a sign that something new is available to you – the key is to give yourself
permission to BE discontent and then explore what ‘s calling you
• Defining what we Desire can be a challenge – the key is curiosity and some clues can be
soap box moments, your values, your pits, Way Showers and what simply feels delightful.
Remember, you need not get it perfect, you need not see the whole picture you need to
only take the first step.
• Which requires a Decision to trust yourself, to give it a go! • Doubt is an inevitable part of
the journey, lean into it. Don’t allow the “Alien on your face” to block possibilities, recognise
and name the stories, put them to one side, reassure your Inner Critic and keep moving
forwards.
• Seek community – isolation is a dream killer. Consider investing in a Coach or Mentor to
build momentum.
• Keep a Gratitude List and finish it off with a “I’m proud of” to train your brain to filter and
find the positives.
• Strategy to start and grow a business, or to take an existing one in a new direction
requires strategy, absolutely, but this must be matched with an equal focus on connecting
you to your inherent, indisputable self-worth so you have the belief and trust in you and
your vision.

Rocking MidlifeTM- the Podcast
Season 1. Episode 11.
My guest today is Heike Yates, an experienced Fitness and Nutrition Coach who empowers
women 50+ to take back their health and strength for a vibrant lifestyle.
We cover a number of topics in our conversation, including how Heike felt being an obese
child, and how she fell in love with fitness as a new mother, which started her on a 30 year
journey of teaching others how to live fit and healthy live, all while still pursuing her own
fitness goals such as becoming an Ironman Triathlete.
When asked are her 3 top tips for the midlife woman who wants to improve their health
and wellbeing, Heike lists the following:
1) Mindset – picture what your goal is that you are aiming for, then itemise the
obstacles and how you can overcome them, thereby setting yourself up for success.
2) Happiness – find it in your everyday life, instead of hoping to be happy “one day.”
3) Intermittent fasting – learn how resting your digestive system can help your body
function so much more efficiently.

My guest today is Debby Montgomery Johnson who has an amazing story about being scammed online, and it certainly makes for an interesting interview to release over Valentine's weekend!
Instead of being crippled with shame and not talking about her experience however, - something that women tend to do - Debby bravely wrote her best selling book "The Woman behind the Smile." The result of her sharing her story? She has become a sought after speaker, with appearances on “The Dr. Oz Show”, CBS This Morning, The Mel Robbins Show, The Tamron Hall Show, WPEC CBS Channel 12 and WPTV NBC Channel 5, in addition to being featured in the Palm Beach Post. She is regularly called upon by reporters for expert commentary about relationship fraud.
Debby shares her personal experience with a love that turned into betrayal and financial disaster, (she lost over 1 million dollars over a 2 year period) and she removes the mask of shame and shows others how to do the same. Many of us have something we’re hiding, something we’re ashamed of, something that through no fault of our own or through our own making keeps us hidden from each other and the world.
Listen in, subscribe and share so that other women can learn what signs to look out for and be encouraged to live authentically, free from shame!
