Real Men Feel with Andy Grant

"It's amazing to love people every day as a job."

A random feature of Real Men Feel is Regular Guy Chats. That is when I converse with an average dude who has nothing to promote but a willingness to share.

It's been a year and a half since my last Regular Guy Chat. Today, I'm talking to Jake Marko, a young man I met last month in a Self-Leadership class we both attended.

We discuss Jake's experiences with purpose, spiritual growth, and overcoming challenges. Jake discusses his life before and since his initiation with the Modern Mystery School. Jake also opens up about times he felt hopeless and what he's done to live a life of joy.

Through it all, there's been a desire to share his voice and help people.

Topics and Questions

  • 1:49 - Why did you say yes to coming on Real Men Feel?
  • 2:55 - What does sharing your voice mean to you?
  • 4:53 - Have you always had this desire?
  • 7:36 - What made you say yes to a Life Activation?
  • 16:13 - What was it like becoming a healer?
  • 20:59 - Andy's experience receiving a Life Activation.
  • 25:34 - What are you proud of?
  • 30:11 - What is one thing that you wish more men knew?
  • 32:10 - Can you share a habit, book, or practice that has helped you?
  • 34:43 - What are you looking forward to?
  • 36:16 - What's the best way for people to learn more and connect with you?

Breaking the Stigma of Mental Health | Men Hurt and Can Heal

Sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is ask for help. Men face a stigma about that, too.

My guest today is Laverne Friesen. He is a former first responder who is passionate about raising awareness around the stigma of mental health after experiencing his own mental health crisis. Now, as a transformation coach, Laverne shares the wisdom he gained from his traumatic experiences to help others live fulfilling lives.

Laverne shares his experience as a sexual abuse survivor in a fundamentalist family who went on to become a police officer and hid his mental health crisis for years.

He shares what kept him going, the tools that helped him turn his life around, and the three-year-old angel that brought him back from the brink of suicide.

Through it all, the stigma of what other people would think about him if they knew how badly he felt kept him quiet.

Leadership In Chaotic Times | Principles of Harmonic Leadership

"Lots of people are seeing the world in a negative way right now. So many people are waiting for someone else to come along and fix it."

My returning guest today is James Greenshields. James is a husband of over 20 years and an honored father of two amazing women; he served 17 years as an Australian Army Officer and woke up in combat.
