The best podcasts for mental health and just handling life in general

Who am I?

I am an indie podcaster who loves learning the trait of podcasting, inside and out. I am host of the CancerDad Podcast, which is a show where I bring my listeners into the world of childhood cancer, beyond the diagnoses and treatments. I am father to one boy in heaven, after he battled cancer for over eight years, as well as three other kids. I feel my purpose is to not let my son's story be forgotten and use it to spread awareness and help others going through the same type of journeys. Our son's journey taught us a lot of things. Some of it we didn't want to be taught, but there was some things that we were taught that benefited us. One that stands out in my mind daily, is how my son lived his life, even in some of the worst conditions a person could be in. You would of never known our son was sick by the way he carried himself daily, and his passion for helping others, even while dealing with his own issues was inspiring to say the least. I become interested in the subject of self-help, mental health, and things like because I lived it, or at least watch my son live that subject daily.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

My podcast is about the stories of families, including my own, and their journeys through one of the worst thing a family could go through, which is childhood cancer. There are so many things you have to overcome, mentally and physically, and the toll it takes on everyone involved, makes self-help and mental health something you have to focus on daily so that you aren't overwhelm with it all, or let the emotions of it send you down a dark hole, and find yourself stuck there.

What is my podcast playlist about?

Mental Health and just advice in general that we all could use to help with our own issues, and help us strive to be better people, as well as overcomers

The podcasts I picked and why

Why this podcast?

The Life Shift with Matt Gilhooly is a show that makes you feel the shift in your own life just by listening. He presents each episode in a way that everyone can relate too, and the flow of the interviews/discussions with his guest and their stories is always on point. I have yet to finish an episode and not be inspired but what I have heard.

2. 20TIMinutes: A Mental Health Podcast

Why this podcast?

Tim is the best! This podcast was actually one of my first podcast I ever listened too. He does such a great job of taking a serious topic, and making it entertaining, funny, but keep the seriousness all intact at the same time! It's unique to say the least, and the vulnerability of it is what makes this one of the best podcasts out there, in my opinion, on mental health.,
