Stress, fatigue and exhaustion are often a constant in the lives of people today. Long work hours, chasing after kids or pets, worrying about health, both of their own and that of their family, and even training or exercise can contribute to this.
Considering that these issues can affect our ability to exercise or train effectively, we need to be conscious of how these work-life events affect our bodies, and subsequently, manage our rest and recovery.
In this episode we will:
· Outlining why rest and recovery is important
· Look at how the body responds to stress and strain
· Consider the impact recovery has on our training so that we know when to go hard or take it easy
· Explore ways we can measure and monitor stress during training

Performance Insight - Aimee Willmott
Aimee is a former competitive swimmer who has represented Great Britain and England at the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, FINA world championships and European championships.
She has competed for Team GB at the 2012 Olympics in London, 2016 Olympics in Rio and 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
