Nourishing Women Podcast

But really, wtf is diet culture? It’s a term that’s being used and thrown around a lot, but how do we define it and know if the information we are consuming is diet culture or not?

Today’s podcast episode explores this in detail, sharing the definition of diet culture and giving concrete specific versions of diet culture in detail. Plus, I give you three tips to be able to point out if something is diet culture or not, and end the episode sharing questions you can ask yourself to determine if you’re being influenced by diet culture.

Thank you to today’s podcast sponsor Simple Mills. Simple Mills makes delicious products with simple ingredients, including tons of baking mixes like pancake mix, brownie mix, bread and pizza mixes and muffin mixes too! - which are my favorite esp the banana bread and pumpkin muffin mixes.

While I am personally not gluten free, these mixes are all gluten free for those that need that since they are made with almond flour as the base.

You can purchase their muffin mixes at Simple Mills website, on Amazon and you can find Simple Mills at most health food stores and grocery stores too. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

149: A Day in the Life of an Intuitive Eater and Wellness Lover

Really, this episode should be called a day in the life of an intuitive eater, wellness lover, business owner and new momma. I thought this would be a fun episode to record and share a bit more behind the scenes of an intuitive eater, how I incorporate #wellnesswithoutobsession in my life, yet also a bit more about my personal life running my online nutrition business and private practice, and being a new mom. 151: Honoring Your Hunger and Fullness Cues

One of the most common complaints I hear from you is feeling annoyed with your hunger and your body’s cues to eat.

I first encourage you to begin my questioning why you feel that way.

Why is it that we find a body’s signal to us annoying? Desire to question it? Or straight up don’t listen to it?

Diet culture is the culprit. So let’s choose otherwise.

Honoring hunger isn’t “giving in”, it’s body respect! It’s self care! It’s listening to your body and one of the first steps to that mind body connection.

Learn more in this episode about primal hunger, hunger and fullness interoceptive cues, the hunger fullness scale, not turning these principles into a diet and the benefits of honoring your hunger and fullness.
