Stoking the Fires of Addiction with Andrew Stokes
What's up guys and welcome back to another Life's a Wreck. This week we're talking about something that I really feel is one of the more unspoken areas of mental health and that's addiction. Or maybe the better way to phrase that is one of the areas I don't think we talk about in the right way. This week I have public speaker and recovered addict Andrew Stokes on the show to talk about his experiences with addiction and what's led him to now being (Cali) sober for nearly 5 years. It's a great talk between two good-looking Maritimers so you aren't gonna want to miss it. Kick back, relax, and let's chat about addiction.

The Wonderful World of Psilocybin (Magic Mushrooms) feat. Thomas Hartle
What's going on guys, hope you had a Merry Christmas! This week on the podcast I sat down with Thomas Hartle, the first Canadian to have been given legal permission to use psilocybin (the psychoactive compound found in magic mushrooms) as a tool to aid him in his struggle with end of life anxiety. Thomas was diagnosed with cancer in 2016 and after essentially being told he had beaten it was re-diagnosed with stage 4 cancer back in 2019 which obviously caused a lot of anxiety. Thomas has since begun paving the way for Canadian research surrounding psilocybin's effect on mental health and joins me today to talk about everything he's experienced and learned over the past few years. It's a great episode and one of my favourite topics we've covered on the podcast. Sit back and relax, because life's a wreck.
