What does success mean to you? In today’s episode with Cameron Rogers of @freckledfoodie we discuss what it means to redefine your definition of success to live a happier life and stress less. As the building blocks of what most consider ‘successful’, Cameron and I chat about what it means to find success in things outside of work, money, and external validation. As a former employee of JP Morgan Cameron has felt the radical transition from working a job associated with status and money to becoming a self-made entrepreneur in the health and wellness scene of NYC. Her values of finances had to shift in order for her to make this new life work and in that process she redefined what success looks like to her. As another part of that journey Cameron shares what it took for her to overcome limiting beliefs, value her self worth, look past societal standards, and find her voice in her work. We discuss what it means to be honest with ourselves and brands when placing a value on our work and how to ask for the appropriate compensation. As well as how to ‘not’ compare ourselves and work with a past version of things but instead make a new standard to follow. Cameron also shares what it was like to start this work process while healing from severe heavy metal poisoning. Her health journey was a confusing time for her and she advises on how to be your own advocate in the health field while not becoming obsessed with the outcome. The final topic we discuss is of Cameron’s podcast, Freckled Foodie and Friends, and what to expect from it. We chat of the fun and work we put into our podcasts and Cameron displays why Freckled Foodie and Friends is not your average show.

Transitions in Life, Moving Through Grief, Finding Love, and Appreciating the Little Things with Addie Martanovic
What if we all lived life with a little more presence? With more gratitude and appreciation for the everyday things? Today’s guest Addie Martanovic shares how her life of transitions has granted her a new perspective on life that we all could use more of. Addie and I begin by discussing the everyday turmoils of sparking creativity, content creation, social media, and living on the cold and grey east coast. The conversation expands however as Addie takes us back in time to her start with instagram and blogging as a young adult in the big city of Chicago. After an unhealthy obsession with health got Addie started in this space, it was the loss of her mom to cancer and the start of a new job at Simple Mills that got her life moving in a new direction. She shares how she lived with the grief and what it was like to grow through it with her family as well. In this we both share insight into how one can support another as they experience grief + the effects of it on one’s life perspective. Addie explains her decision to leave Simple Mills and transition from food to lifestyle as she took her blog and account, @chickpeainthecity, full time in January 2019. And as real talk goes, Addie gets very real about the struggles of blogging full time and the pressure that comes with constantly creating content for instagram. This conversation as a whole is perfect for anyone facing transitions in life, moving through grief, experiencing job issues, or just looking to find some appreciation for the everyday things. Spotting the beauty in everyday life and catching the little moments is a specialty of Addie’s that we also discuss in length throughout this conversation.
