05/15/23 • 44 min
"Being courageous is commitment. It's being dedicated to a cause or to a purpose. It's really to fight through the fear, through the unknown." ~ Randy Mortensen
Randy Mortensen's life was shattered by the devastating loss of his five-year-old son due to a tragic medical error. Struggling with grief and the loss of a parent, Randy's destructive behaviors led him down a dark path, one where he sought solace in alcohol. But everything changed when his brother’s tough love confronted him, delivering the wake-up call he needed. It was a pivotal moment that sparked his journey toward recovery.
With God's guidance, Randy entered a 28-day inpatient program, finding solace and strength in the daily routine of AA meetings. His transformation wasn't easy, but through relentless commitment, Randy emerged from the darkness and has now celebrated over 32 years of sobriety. Today, as a published author, speaker, and host of the God Took Me To Las Vegas Podcast, Randy dedicates his life to helping others heal, restore relationships, and save lives through recovery. His message is one of hope, redemption, and the unwavering power of faith.
