BIO:

Molly Sabourin is an author and podcaster for Ancient Faith Ministries as well as a wife of 20 plus years to her husband, Troy, and the mother of three teenagers and one young adult.

About a year ago, Molly found herself feeling overwhelmed, despondent, and listless after a particularly challenging season of her life and stumbled onto a documentary called "Minimalism." This film chronicled the journeys of individuals who had walked away from excess and compulsive consumption and embraced simplicity and intentionality as a way of life. The freedom and peace they discovered in the process was so inspiring to her, she began her own journey toward simplicity, intentionality and transcendence.

Decluttering her home led to the decluttering of all areas of her life, thereby reducing her stress and increasing her peace, joy, and productivity. Molly is passionate about pursuing, and helping others pursue, a more simple and calm existence.

Before she goes on sabbatical, Cynthia leaves you with an example of resilience with Lauren Roskilly. Lauren comes to us from Sussex England with a story of faith and healing. Can you imagine what it would be like to black out, up to 10 times a day, due to a blood pressure and blood sugar disorder? Lauren describes the ramifications of living her life for the past 24 years and shares how beautifully God has spoken to her both directly and through others. She is now ministering to others through her books, speaking, and coaching practice.

Cynthia will be back again in September. Now is a great time to go back and listen to those episodes you may have missed over the last three years!

Lauren is a mum of two beautiful children. She has a BA Hons in Health and Social Care and a diploma in CBT. Lauren became a born-again Christian in 2004. She is transparent about her past ups and downs with both physical health issues and mental health, including grief, depression, anxiety and self- harm. But she has learnt to refocus from unhealthy and negative mindsets and towards Christ. Thus, the name of her ministry, ‘Mindful of Christ’. She is the author of ‘Christian based Cognitive Behavioural therapy’ and ‘Indestructible Faith- prayers & prompts for journaling.’ As a speaker and an accredited Life Coach she helps people to recognise & overcome unhealthy and negative mindsets, grow and strengthen their faith & relationship with God and helps them to discover and step into their identity and God- given purpose. She has previously spoken on podcasts, radio and TV including Elevation TV Network and has spoken at events; conferences, summits etc., including organising & hosting her own. All of which have been seen and heard right across the globe.

Cynthia talks with Father Hans Jacobse about addiction. In this interview created for My Beautiful Advent, they get into pornography specifically but also the damaging consequences of addictive behavior and how Father Hans addresses it as a priest. This is a must listen for anyone who has experienced the effects of either topic in their lives, or who may be able to help others.

Fr. Johannes Jacobse has been a priest for thirty years. Born in Holland, he has a B.A. from the University of Minnesota, an M.Div. from St. Vladimir’s Seminary, studied the Greek language at the University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Fr. Hans edits the web site Orthodoxy Today that discusses social and moral issues from an Orthodox Christian and the larger Judea/Christian framework. The success of Orthodoxy Today led to the founding of the American Orthodox Institute, a research and educational organization that engages the cultural issues of the day within the Orthodox Christian moral tradition, which Fr. Hans heads. His podcasts can be heard on Ancient Faith Radio.
