Fr. Barnabas Powell was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. His journey to Orthodoxy came as a result of many years searching for a "lifestyle" that would be truly Christian. After years in Evangelical Protestant ministry and serving in Christian media, both radio and television, he launched Faith Encouraged Ministries to use what he learned in sharing faith through media for the Orthodox Faith. Fr. Barnabas is an author, pastor, podcaster, and teacher committed to offering a credible witness of the timeless Orthodox faith for this culture. His daily devotional - Faith Encouraged Daily - reaches over 5000 people a week. His weekly homilies - Faith Encouraged - have been watched over 150,000 times on You Tube. And his twice a month live call in show - Faith Encouraged LIVE - is one of the most popular shows on Ancient Faith Radio.

Rev. Dn. Stephen Muse, PhD, LMFT is a pastoral counselor, marriage and family therapist. He is Director of Education and Counselor Training at the Pastoral Institute, Inc. in Columbus, Georgia where he is also directs Clergy-in-Kairos, a nationally recognized intensive out-patient stress and wellness program for clergy and their spouses.
He has contributed chapters in ten books and is author of 60+ articles and book reviews for various professional and trade magazines including national award winning research in the area of religious integration and clinical empathy of therapists. His work has been translated into Russian, Greek, Swedish, Serbian and used in Romania.

Cynthia was blessed to sit down with Mother Macrina from The Dormition of the Mother of God Monastery to chat about that hole we sometimes feel in our souls. It is closely related to anxiety which many of us experience...but what is the cause? Cynthia specializes in the physical, but Mother Macrina specializes in the spiritual!
Mother Macrina is a professed nun with 23 years of monastic experience. She holds a B.S. degree from St. Cloud University in Minnesota. She taught school for five years, and was a Realtor for 18 years. As a member of St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church in Minneapolis, MN she served on the Board of Trustees, the Philoptohos, the choir, was youth director for 5 years, and a mission team member in `988 to Kenya. She joined the Dormition Monastery in 1996 and has been a community member ever since. Her main obedience is to mount icons for the gift shop.
