The Rules Change: Removing the Stigma of Discussing Substance Use, Suicide, and Vulnerability in Podcasting
Fuck The Rules Podcast
Season 4 Episode 4
It's always a bit of a surprise to me to find other podcast hosts/producers out in the wild. And it was a delight to meet my guest, Collin Strajack, at the local Pride Fest activities back in June 2023. We had a lot to discuss and especially so after I did a dive into his podcast episodes.
He's worth your time to listen to his episodes, so I hope you hop over to his show after this episode!
PLEASE NOTE: there are discussions about substance use disorder, and suicide in this episode.

Collin Strajack is a jack of many trades including stand up comedy, podcasting, entrepreneurship, and the drive trying to be the best version he can as he continues to navigate life as a 33 year old bachelor. HIs podcast Modern Day Overthinker is hosted and produced by him, and he releases new episodes every other Monday. Modern Day Overthinker is all about having what Collin likes to call below the surface conversations focusing on life, mental health, and well being.

Season 4 Episode 5
This episode is just a lovely chat and ramble with the spouse of one of my favorite people. Sebastian Polhill digs in with me about some of the subjects I could talk for ages about: world history, Roman history, development of society and language, and most important, food.
Grab a snack and your favored beverage, y'all. You're going to be peckish by the end of this episode!

More about Sebastian:
Sebastian was born and raised in a single-parent family - Mum and 3 brothers. After doing reasonably well at school and then university he joined the British Army as an Education Officer, reaching the rank of Major over a 17 year career. This was followed by his second career as a High School Teacher of Mathematics, teaching at a variety of schools in both the UK and the USA. He also took a 4-year sabbatical in the middle of this time to work in the construction industry as everything from labourer to site manager while he took a second bachelor's degree in Construction Management. He's now in a completely different 4th career as a car salesman.
Sebastian moved to the USA in order to marry his girlfriend of three years (refers to their relationship, not his girlfriend's age!) four-and-a-half years ago, following a two-year ordeal with the US Immigration Services, during which he was deported back to the UK twice! He's now living very happily in the Quad Cities with his wife, Lynn, and her young-adult son, Brody.
